Default Matt Cassell to the Chiefs?

I saw it on the ESPN rumors page, unfortunately i dont have that service so i dont know whether or not it is true or not. Can someone say what it says in the article? It would make sense now that Pioli is the main man in KC and he drafted Cassell.....

Oh god please no. We'd have to give up way too much for him and imo he isn't THAT much better than Thigpen. Not to mention the weapons he had to work with and the defense that played well last year.

The last QB we drafted to win a playoff game was Len Dawson. We need to draft and develop our own guy.

I am really interested to see what happens with Cassel. He and Thigpen are two wild-cards in the offseason that have some unpredictability about them. Was Cassel a one-hit wonder, or is he that good? Thigpen looked capable of leading the team downfield, but he needs to work on his accuracy.

On Rotoworld, they are saying that the Vikings are taking a long look at him during free agency.

Pioli+Haley+Cassell for a 2nd round pick+Crabtree at 3=AWESOME!

Can you imagine an offense with Gonzalez, Bowe and Crabtree? wow

The chiefs should worry about getting an offensive line before worrying about how good any qb you play is going to be. It's tough to throw the ball when youre laying on your back. There is a reason that larry johnson looks so bad, and i dont think it is necessarily larry johnsons fault.

Can you imagine how much worse our defense will get? Wait, what's that? It can't get any worse when you're ranked last in rush defense and are historically bad at rushing the passer? You don't say!

Terrible move if we give up picks for him. He was a product of the system he was in, a system we don't currently run. Sure, Gailey could be fired tomorrow, but I think most of the players and front office people were pleasantly surprised with Thigpen last year. Either draft someone to develop this year (ala Browns drafting Quinn) or work on the defense. Don't give up picks (especially OUR 2nd round, which is very high in the 2nd) for a QB who has started a single season on a stacked team.

Be smart. Draft a QB or stick with Thigpen and fix our defense. We were in a lot of games last year. Our defense needs an overhaul and now. QB is hardly our biggest problem on this team.

I think it will take more than just a 2nd to get Cassell.

Offensive line is an issue but would you spend a top 3 pick on an RT when the value is not their. ALbert will be a top 10 LT for the rest of his career so KC is set their. O line is a mid round addressed issue, not top 3 pick.

LJ looks bad because he hesitates before hittingthe hole, but he will be in jail or suspended so dont worry about him in KC anymore. He still has a few eyars left yes, but has not motivation or want- due to the situation in KC or not.

Branden Albert and Rudy Niswanger were first year starters, with Albert being a rookie. Both played well and have solidified the left side (Albert -> Waters -> Niswanger). The right side is a big trouble spot, especially at RT. Damion McIntosh was absolutely horrible last year and has no business being on the field. We could draft a 3rd/4th round guy to compete (and probably win) that spot.

The reason LJ looks so bad is because he doesn't care. If you watch enough Chiefs games you'll know what I mean. Most KC fans are tired of seeing very little effort on his part and we're tired of his finger pointing. The day he signed that big contract is the day thought he became bigger than the team, and that just isn't how it works.

Directly from ESPN:

Quote:
While much speculation has surrounded whether or not the New England Patriots would use the franchise tag on Matt Cassel for 2009, the Boston Herald has reported a new possibility: Cassel could wind up reuniting with former Patriots vice president of player personnel Scott Pioli in Kansas City.
The Herald's Karen Guregian cites punditry by Sirius NFL radio analyst Jim Miller, who said, "I'd really look at Pioli down there in Kansas City. Why wouldn't he want him? He knows what the kid is capable of doing. So I think he'd be on their radar... If Kansas (City) were to make that deal, that's their Matt Ryan. That's their Joe Flacco. Unlike a [Mark] Sanchez, for instance, they know he's playing at a starter's level. So to them, I think it'd be worth it to do. They'd get their starting quarterback, they know what he's capable of doing, and they've seen him win games at the NFL level."

The Herald lists the New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears as the other suitors for Cassel's services.

They quoted a pundit making an assumption as news? Wow, what a joke. This is someone making up a story and selling it as fact.

They needed the hits on the rumor central page. Half the stuff on there is exactly like this or blowing up a quote from a player and making speculations. Honestly, dont know why Im a member.

I think he'll be a Niner or Viking...one day. I like the fit with the Niners and if I'm not mistaken, he is a known Niner fan being a Cali kid. So, if he had his choice, I think San Fran would head his list of potential destinations.

New York Daily News - New England quarterback Matt Cassel was in line for the bathroom at ESPN's Super Bowl party on Friday night and reportedly got peed on.

A drunken man tried to cut Cassel in line, but he wasn't ready to concede his spot. "Matt told him to wait his turn and headed into the urinals," a source told the New York Daily News.

Soon after, the man barged in and peed directly on Cassel's leg.

After security tossed out the man, Cassel headed back out into the
