4th and 26. That is vivid in my memory, as I'm sure it is in Packers fans as well. If the Eagles would have won the NFC Championship game that year it may be talked about more. But failure to capitalize on opportunities leaves this forgotten a bit.

Kurt Warner - he has his own thread about this as well.

15 years ago their was Aikman, Young, Elway, Marino. I'd put Farve into the previous Era as when he was at his prime he was competing against Young, Aikman and Elway. Marino would likely be put into the era before, but their is always going to be a lot of overlap.

Big Ben will very likely be in, possibly another promising young QB in the NFL right now will emerge and make it.

In the Modern Era (after WW2 or so) their have been 23 QBs into the HOF. Thats like 5-6 every 15 years.

There is no way he should make it. In five years people will remember Peyton Manning, Kurt Warner, Tom Brady. McNabb will be an afterthought in comparison.

Without the ring he'll need the numbers.

11,231 yards shy of top 10 in passing yards

3743 yards/year for 3 years
2807 yards/year for 4 years

3208 yards/year for 3.5 years

79 TDs shy of 9th in passing TDs
(9th will be pushed down to 10 more than likely because of Brady)

26.3 TDs/year for 3 years
19.7 TDs/year for 4 years

22.5 TDs/year for 3.5 years

Basically the question is can Donovan McNabb stay healthy for close to 4 years and play at his normal level.

If he does, production wise you can't leave him out.

He'd be top 10 in yardage and TDs and he's on pace for having the 2nd best TD/INT ratio.

And heck chances are if Donovan McNabb plays 4 more healthy years he'd get that elusive title or at least another NFC title and several more Pro Bowl visits

And It's fair to say that McNabb is a top 5-6 QB over this era.

1)Manning/Brady
2)Brady/Manning
3)McNabb
4)Warner

Even if you bump McNabb for Warner and even Big Ben he's still top 6.

The idea that you have to be top 2-3 at your position like some are insinuating to make the Hall is not true at all. Intuitively that wouldn't make sense. Players shouldn't be punished because they played in an era of other great players.
