Dwan Edwards
Was re-signed by the Ravensfor next year, found it on kffl.com. Good move, he is a solid depth guy, bust of a pick for a 2nd rounder (thanks Ozzie) but decent depth.

No issue with Ozzie.. but I do have a problem with Dwan Edwards.. I think that we could have saved that money and restocked via the draft and then let someone over pay for his services somewhere else in the league!

Overpay? He get's a 1 mil. base salary and not much of a bonus. We could cut him and no real cap issues would arise. This happened a long time ago, but wasn't reported.

That really sucks because I think Edwards would be better off in a different system. I was hoping the Colts would give him a look as a 3 tech because he has the build and decent quickness. I think he could thrive in that position.

Edwards is overrated and is best suited as a backup. Just wish we could have brought in a rookie that could do just as good a job at a cheaper rate that way we could get some compensation for him signing elsewhere...

We have so many other needs to address in the draft, that by the time we took a DT your probably not gonna find anyone that could come right in and know our system right away the way that Dwan knows it and can perform in it. Regardless of the new DC its gonna be basically the same system.

I certainly don't think it's a bad idea, and i mean if you do find someone in FA or the Draft that can outplay Edwards, it's not like he's gonna count against anything if he's cut. But he is a good keep for depth, def agree with (almost) everyone on that.

I don't think this even makes it certain he's on the roster for next season. It's always good to have capable bodies up front, and he can be effective taking up blockers. I'm a big fan of Brandon McKinney though, he's a tank.
