Gurode is entrenched at C, so Kalil wouldn't have much use. Allison may not be the best value in the 3rd, especially if a top guy doesn't run well and falls. Ramirez would be a steal, Young is intriguing; late round guy like Yamon Figurs because of ST play would be interesting as an alternative to Ball.

I don't like it. Not nearly enough spent on Defense.

Ummm, did everyone forget that our Defense was the problem last year, not the offense?

Who else would you take on defense? Nelson fills the S hole. Who else would you draft that steps in and takes a starting spot on the defense?

Well, first off I don't think Nelson fills any hole at S. I don't think any player you pick immediately starts.

But, I would pick at least one CB and lets not forget that rushing the passer was the major problem the cowboys had last year. Some may be scheme, some may be injury but until proven otherwise it's still the major problem.

I would draft at least 1 OLB/DE/pass rushing specialist. I would like to see us draft a WR at some point, but I won't be completely upset if we don't.

If we have 7 picks I think at least 4 should be defense.

Here are the positions I'd like to see us draft:

QB--someone developmental
TE?--with the release of Hannam, we could use another blocker
WR?--if the right guy falls, I might take one in the first round
CB--developmental guy in the middle rounds
DE/OLB--another middle round guy as insurance for Ellis or as a nickel end.
OL--any position, anywhere in the draft, especially depending on Colombo. We NEED some depth along the OL.
NT--another Montavious Stanley, except, hopefully better.

I am really becoming open to the possibility of trading down and getting an extra 3rd or 4th round pick or two and grabbing whoever falls out of the first. Just for fun, here's something that would seem ideal to me:

22. Trade: Dallas receives picks 38, 70, and 6th round pick; Arizona receives pick 22.
38. Sidney Rice--a receiver with #1 potential who can develop as TO and Glenn grow old. (Alternative, Justin Blalock).
53. Eric Wright--A cornerback with starting potential who can be developed as a nickel and dime corner until he is ready to take over. (Alternative, Jason Hill, Craig Davis)
70. Josh Beekman--A guy who can provide depth at guard and eventually be a starter.
86. Brian Robinson--As I said earlier, a guy to backup Ellis and play DE in the nickel.
118. Trent Edwards--A developmental QB with starting potential.
150. Antonio Johnson--Another guy to provide depth at a key position.
166 (from AZ). Tony Franklin--guy with good coverage skills and speed to play safety in the nickel.
182 through end: BPA.

Boy now I realize why I hate doing these projections. That was painstaking. And bad. I don't really think I would actually be happy with that draft. Whatever.

Scratch Porter. Dolphins signed him. I like the David Ball picked, but It is pretty offensive heavy.

I like your list with one exception. Under your scenario, we have ignored the Safety position in FA and the draft.
