Rams' Torry Holt asks for release
http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/aro...r-his-release/
St. Louis Rams receiver Torry Holt asks for his release
By Jim Thomas
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Realizing he no longer fits in the team’s plans, seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Torry Holt has asked for his release from the Rams, league sources told the Post-Dispatch on Wednesday.
The Rams have been shopping Holt, 32, on the trade market, but so far there have been no takers. Holt is due a $1.25 million roster bonus on March 17, so it’s unlikely he will be a Ram beyond then.
But with free-agent wide receivers being signed daily around the NFL, and hundreds of millions of dollars already spent six days into free agency, Holt is seeking some closure to his time in St. Louis.

could be a good move for anyone that goes after him. Im thinking Philadelphia would push hard for this guy maybe even the giants.

dear Giants, please realize that Plax may very well face jail time, Amani's gone, we need a vet and #1 WR and remember the way he literally owned Kenny Phillips on that ridiculous and spectacular catch he made in week 2(and I looooove KP...)

I'm thinking Kansas City would be a great fit for him.

So would Crabtree be worth the #2 pick?
Personally, I'd still be taking Jason Smith.
And Holt is still a good receiver and probably be a #1 WR for someone.

I think if he's cut he goes to the Bears, and I'm not one of those fans that thinks my team will sign every player.

They would still go after Jason Smith or Aaron Curry at #2 and then take a WR in the 2nd round.

How is Holt a good fit for everyone but Harrison is washed up and all the other stuff everyone says about him. I think he just wants to go to a winning team and knows the Rams suck

I wouldn't mind him in Baltimore is he was super cheap. Adding him would give us huge flexibility in the 1st round.

That would be sweet. Don't let his last years stats fool you guys, Torry Holt still has some solid years left.

Marshall-Holt-Royal
Good luck stopping that :P
All kidding aside, I think Holt still has some years left. I wouldn't mind seeing him team up with Bruce again. Would help whoever the heck is the 49er's QB. Would also be fun and nostaligic.

Yessir. Spags would love to have him and we have a log jam at end. Abiamiri is going to be a stud, and Parker is better suited at RE, where he wouldn't get playing time. Plus, Parker is pretty much useless after week 7 or 8. Though that was a nice pick-6 against SF ;)

Ha! It would have been funny if Kurt Warner had signed with them too...the greatest geriatric show on grass...
Anywho, it would be nice to see him sign with his home state Panthers, but they're too stupid to do something like that. Besides, Charlotte hates NC State guys :p One can wish though.....

Crabtree and Maclin are in play for the Rams now.
They'll only have two receivers on the roster after Holt is gone.
