Agreed.

While of course I would've liked to see the Bears get more for Jones than third-round value, it was a good trade. Get it out of the way early, scout the prospects that will be hitting that new pick range.

Jones was not going to be a happy camper playing one last year under his original contract; if Benson is worth his salt, this would've been an uncomfortable year trying to get him quality carries, while Jones would be in a "contract year" and wanting to get lots of carries to justify a big new contract with whatever team. That the Bears got something and avoided the headache of two 1st-string backs needing/demanding 1st-string carries, is a net win.

Guess I'll need a new sig, though.

Oh, and as an aside... I stayed away from Bears talk for a month or so, and I come back here and the boards are all changed? Wow. I posted something yesterday and who knows where the hell the post ended up? I'll figure out things before too long.

Yep, most of them are. I know this because I deal with them all the time, online, at the store, or wherever the hell I go.

Thomas Jones was over hyped on the Bears board big time, and by ESPN and the rest of the media. Sure, he had good years, but he also could've had better than what he had, if he was more talented.

We'd had a guy like Tomlinson or Alexander or Barber, or hell even Chester Taylor, and we had our line, any back could do the yardage he had, and the TOP 3, would've done 1800!
