Seattle has traded linebacker Julian Peterson to Detroit for defensive tackle Cory Redding and what is believed a 2009 fifth-round draft choice, a source told FOXSports.com.

Cory Redding has is entering year three of what was a 7 year 49 mil contract, but the value is not known since he restructured it for this deal.

Look, Redding is way overrated. He weighs about 280 (dont trust nfl.com) and was a product of Big Ass Shawn Rogers getting the double teams. Unless Redding can be moved to DE or he gets matched up with a smaller Guard, he's not really going to do much. Last year he had 38 tackles and 3 sacks. Not good.

"Look," he won't have to worry about double teams with Patrick Kerney or the underrated Mebane getting most to all of them. He will be able to get close to that season when he had Big Boy Rogers.

I guess we can put Aaron Curry on the most wanted list, or at the least look for an OLB type in round 2 (Matthews, Sintim, Barwin). Just my take.

don't be a hater now. Im telling you how it is. From someone whos been watching this guy play his whole career, he is a Matt Millen favorite. That should tell you something. Redding hasn't done jack **** since he signed that big contract. Maybe Seattle can get him motivated again, but it seems like he got his money, he's content with just being a moderate player. Remember when the Lions traded Dre Bly and Denver fans we're saying how good of a player he was without watching a single game he played in, but all the Lions fans were saying how garbage he was? It's probably going to be the same thing. What can i say, Detroit ruins players

Here's a stat:

Through 12 games last year Redding was on pace for 51 tackles and 12 tackles behind the line(sacks and tackles for loss).

Last year there were only 3 DTs in the NFL that had atleast 50 tackles and atleast 12 tackles behind the line..

Last year there were only 5 DTs with atleast 12 tackles behind the line, but Redding was on pace for 12 last year, had 12 in 2007 and 20 in 2006.

Those stats put him up with 3 of the best DT's in the league, and he did it on the LIONS!! Interesting.
