It's probably Vick first, Elway second, Palmer third, and Russell fourth.

People forget what a great athlete Palmer was before his knee got shredded.

Michael Vick, John Elway, JaMarcus Russell, Jeff George are the top four, in that order.

It's either Vick or JaMarcus Russell, depending on how much value you place on mobility and size, respectively. Elway is up there, too.

just on raw talent, it has to be Vick no question. Elway and Russell can be 2 or 3.

Vick? Non-sense.

Steve Young was, for the USFL in 1984 and then again as the #1 pick in the NFL Supplemental draft... oh, are we talking about the regular NFL draft?

I actually thought Carson Palmer was the most sure thing at QB that I've seen from the #1 pick

How nobody has mentioned Randall Cunningham, Steve Young and Fran Tarkenton beats me...

My list goes
1. Vick
2. Elway
3. Cunningham
4. McNabb
5. Young (Steve, not Vince)
6. Brett Farve (his arm alone gets him on this list).
7. C Pep
8. Jamarcus Russell
9. Fran Tarkenton
10. Steve McNair

I forget about Culpepper. He does have that added mobility on Russell

Oh and Carson along with Peyton and Elway are the 3 easiest#1 overall picks of the last quarter century when talking about QBs. If Vick, Russel and Paler were in the same draft Carson would drafted 100 times out of a 100. I hate these athlete or best physically, because Peyton, Marino, Brady, Montana and Elway are the best QBs of all time and only one of them is even considered mildy athletic.

Get real, teams look for leaders, arm strength, accuracy, physical tools, vision, size, work ethic, and an overall sense of understanding the game and being able to slow the game down in their head. Russell nor Vick could do all of these things that why this debate is ridiculous.

you're praising jamarcus russell for his intangibles? i've heard he's dumb as bricks.

vick is the most complete QB with respect to being physically gifted and having off-the-chart intangibles. vick made the falcons relevant every game they played, they were never out of it. it was like watching a madden game when he was in his zone. i miss seeing him play...

Jordyzzz is the answer to every question regarding intellect, size, and athleticism. He can play any position and doubles as our head coach sometimes. He's better than a QB, he's Jordyzzz.
