the problem i think most people have with New Jersey is that the people from New Jersey have this ridiculous arrogance about New Jersey... They think it's the greatest place on earth, when in reality it probably sucks (never been).

It's also extremely weird that people from New Jersey are not only proud of being from there, but want to make sure everyone else knows that's where they're from. It's sickening. Perhaps it's merely the guido factor though.

I really should have added city after NY, because i have a lot of wonderfully content friends from upstate and buffalo, but we all know buffalo is more like canada and detroit than like, new york.

In my area of PA, there are a lot of people that have moved in from NJ and NY. I'd say about 1/10th of the people I know are former NJ folks. And there are really only 4 or 5 out of the countless ones that I know that have that mentality, as I said in one of my posts aobut it before, but that is what really bugs people about it.

Not exactly the case. I don't exactly think Jersey is the greatest place on earth, frankly I don't like it very much and depending on how things come together definitely wouldn't mind moving somewhere else down the road.

And again, not always the case. Many people I know (myself included) don't exactly advertise it, but if asked they'll tell just like anyone else would. Sometimes people are sarcastic about it, I know I can be, but it's pretty hard to mistake that for genuine pride/flaunting where you're from.

Granted there are plenty of idiots from NJ and lots of people that really suck, but you'll find people that suck just about anywhere. I just think that's a really, really broad generalization.
