I think Person can be placed on the PS if need be. Only dress max-7 OL for gameday anyways and Person is behind Boone as the swing tackle.

Snyder is the key swingman being able to play all five positions. If he were to get injured we could call Person up from the PS.
Part of my apprehension is i'm not sure Person would make the PS. He played well this preseason and i think teams like the Jets, Raiders, Seahawks, and Panthers might all make a claim for him. I also think Snyder sucks so if we lose a young guy under contract for 4 years for Snyder i'd be dissappointed.

Is Constanzo that good of a ST player? Because I didnt see it. I understand you need the 4th ILB to be good on ST but injuries are a big part of the game and Costanzo is a sub-par a 3-4 ILB. Kristick was at least serviceable as a third string. He'd had bulked up and added strength and didnt look too bad at all in preseason. My guess is he still had PS egilibity so they went with him but I guess Im not understanding the Costanzo love from Harbs.

Nice to see some attention being paid to special teams. It's going to be an interesting season with the changes to the kicking game to see which teams will adapt fastest. We have a top teir special teams soach, now lets's hope he stays ahead of the changes.

He's been with new ST Coach Brad Seely for a long time. It happens everywhere, even on "elite" franchises.

The 49ers cut Arnaz Battle but now he's with Al Everest in Pittsburgh and is actually a Team Captain. (Crazy right? A Team Captain of the Pittsburgh Steelers!!!)

Top ST players (if Castonzo is that) often hold alot more value amongst coaches than amongst fans.

The Gooden signing solidies the ILBs to 4-deep. My guess is the cut will be a PS eligible guy at a deep position like Colin Jones, Will Tukuafu...

Well yea, I posted that before the news broke on Gooden. Now cutting Kristick makes sense. I just didnt see the reasoning in having only 3 ILBs basically. I have no problems with core ST players making the roster but not at the expense of depriving you of solid depth at key positions. Gooden is solid depth.

Not a lot of beef for three tight end sets. A sixth lineman or a dl guy perhaps to fill out those formations...

According to Harbs, Miller will play sort of a H-Back role and will serve as the team's de facto 3rd TE. We put in a claim for rookie TE Lee Smith, who was cut by the Pats but the Bills were awarded his rights, as they had a worst record than us last year.

Alex Boone was playing alot of "tackle eligible" in short yardage the final preseason game.

doubtful.

So, I'm watching the game against the Raiders from the preseason (was finally able to download it), and I am surprised at just how big Braylon Edwards is.

Aldon won't be seeing much time in the base 3-4 until he learns a few things about pass coverage.

Boone would definitely help in those jumbo sets. Putting Miller in with an underpowered Walker just wouldn't be enough size to get the job done. Davis, Miller and Boone would bring some power to the formation.

I got NFL Sunday Ticket for the first time back in 09. Before that i had to settle for whatever was on TV, ie not the 49ers. I lived in and around NYC before, and Toronto now so its always been the Giants, Jets, and Bills game, and i'm tired of watching those teams. Love NFL Sunday Ticket, get to watch the 49ers every week, plus all the other interesting games. Congrats

Dear Niners fans,

I am a Rams fan that comes in peace to your board. Recently the Rams signed Tony Wragge to be a backup guard/center. Could you folks please tell me a little about him?

Has he ever started for ya'll and what are his strengths and weaknesses as a player?

I've read on your board many posts regarding your dissatisfaction with your OL so I am a little apprehensive about a guy who couldn't bust the starting lineup with your team.

Thanks for your time. We will see ya'll very soon!! Lol...

Good backup. Can play center and guard. Took over in 2006 for a while after Eric Heitman broke his leg and played well. Honestly I'm not sure why he was never in the discussion for a starting role, but I suppose he just never looked that great to the coaches in practice. Regardless he's a solid backup. Not great, but not terrible.

Not great, but not terrible.

Pretty much sums it up. Solid back-up but not starter material. I truly believe he was only signed as insurance incase we couldnt land another center after Bass signed with the G-Men. But as far as back-ups go, he's as solid as they come.

In other news, Applewhite was waived to make room for Gooden. And new numbers are in....

Goodwin #59
Tukuafu #92
Ian Williams #93
Dobbs #96
Reuland #88
Corey Nelms #23
Braylon Edwards #17
Scott Tolizen #3

Love NFL Sunday Ticket, get to watch the 49ers every week, plus all the other interesting games. Congrats
Thanks. I cant wait until later today when Sony updates PSN so I can download the app and then subscribe to NFL ST.

I'm curious Dan, how does NFL ST work? Does it cost the same as Sunday Ticket? I know they're now offering Sunday Ticket online for fans who aren't allowed satellite dishes at their residence or can't have service because of an obstruction that blocks the satellite from facing the south. But I think they actually charge more than the regular Sunday Ticket price.

It's five more dollars. Honestly if I had more time/money on my hands I'd invest in it. I think it's $339.99. I don't have the kind of money just lying around. So for now and maybe for a while I'll have to settle on live streams and torrenting games that have already aired. There are also a lot of bars around my house so if I want HD or I'm not finding a good stream I can just go there.
