Mock with analysis
1. Oakland- Adrian Peterson
Its a different pick but its something i think would benefit the raiders offense. Russell didnt help himself by showing up overweight at the combine and supposedly not being a good interviewer, and CJ isnt a realistic option with all the money tied up at the WR position. Since the raiders need a playmaker on offense, they take a RB to go in a dual system with Lamont Jordan.
2. Detroit- Gaines Adams
Bit of a reach but marinelli/millen need that DE to make their cover 2 work.
3. Cleveland- Joe Thomas
With peterson gone cleveland takes some OL help. This could benefit their entire OL. They can move shaffer to RT, and move steinbach back to G. With fraley at C this line should be much improved.
4. Tampa Bay- Calvin Johnson
The bucs are ecstatic to get the best player in the draft. He teams up with other promsing youngsters in cadillac williams and michael clayton. When the bucs solve their QB situation they will have a deadly offense.
5. Arizona- Jamaal Anderson
Arizona's top target is gone. They still fix the trenches and get a young DE.
6. Washington- Alan Branch
They get the guy that can be a force in the middle for them. He can take some pressure and let guys like Andre Carter rush the passer.
7. Minnesota- Brady Quinn
I like tarvaris jackson, but he grades nowhere near brady quinn as a prospect. Childress takes quinn and gets a new franchise QB.
8. Houston- Levi Brown
They choose a LT for the future so carr/rosenfels/ramsey doesnt keep on getting knocked down on his back. Kubiak continues to address the trenches.
9. Miami- Adam Carriker
They take carriker, who can fit in with multiple defensive schemes. Capers should have a lot of fun with the LB core and guys like Carriker and Roth.
10. Atlanta- Laron Landry
The deep pass has been their achilles heel for a while. No more. The falcons get the best S prospect in the draft and he will replace crocker.
11. San Franciso- Anthony Spencer
Tough spot to be in. Literally all the top defensive players have been taken. So SF takes a guy who can be their rush OLB to pair up with Manny. Tully Banta-Cain is solid but hes not a guy who will cause you to pass up on solid prospects.
12. Buffalo- Marshawn Lynch
With mcgahee gone the bills have a hole at RB. Levy selects Lynch to pair up with Losman and continue to further his development.
13. St. Louis- Paul Pozluzny
They get a LB to help out that pathetic run D. Works with pisa (cant spell his last name) and witherspoon.
14. Carolina- Jamarcus Russell
Jake Delhomme wasnt very good this season and was quite erratic. After him they had nobody either as weinke was absolutely terrible. As well he isnt too young either. The panthers take this QB in hopes that if delhomme falters Russel will be their Franchise QB. It can also turn into a Brees/Rivers type thing.
15. Pittsburgh- Jarvis Moss
Get another pass rusher to fill the void from Joey Porter. He can be a OLB in their 3-4 and fit in as a DE when they transition to cover 2.
16. Green Bay- Greg Olsen
They absolutely need a RB but since lynch is gone they address their next biggest need, TE. He should immediately become their starter and be a good weapon for favre.
17. Jacksonville- Reggie Nelson
With deon grant leaving the Jaguars have a hole at FS. This is a team that doesnt have a whole lot of holes but could use a presence like nelson in that secondary. Him and sensebaugh should form a nice safety duo for years to come.
18. Cincinatti- Leon Hall
They picked a CB last year but their pass D was still atrocious. There is no need for a first round DE seeing geathers was resigned and smith was franchised. So they get another solid youngster to play with Joseph.
19. Tennesee- Charles Johnson
A lot of players have left TEN on offense (henry, bennett, wade). While a top priority is to get VY a toy to play with, they get instead a DE. This is a strong WR class so the titans should get a solid player in the 2nd, maybe along the lines of sidney rice.
20. New York Giants- Lawrence Timmons
A huge hole was created when emmons and arrington were cut. They need some help at OLB to pair up with pierce, a very under-rated player.
21. Denver- Amobi Okoye
They get a solid, young penetrating DT compared to the likes of tommie harris and warren sapp. Their DL wasnt very good last year and this is a step in the right direction.
22. Dallas- Brandon Merriweather
They need a FS. They might like watkins but when superior talent is available you take the better player. Watkins should still be a solid backup FS but merriweather should be a big impact type player.
23. Kansas City- Dwayne Jarrett
They get a WR to help bolster their offense. Their WR are one of the worst in the league and this is a step in the right direction.
24. New England- Michael Griffin
They get a young SS to take over for rodney harrison. With this theyre having a great offseason, and still another 1st round pick.
25. New York Jets- Ben Grubbs
They continue to build that young OL. Grubbs, Mangold, and Ferguson are going to help form a dominant unit.
26. Philadelphia- Eric Weddle
To be honest this pick is always the hardest to do. But they need a new SS and considine is good at coverage but cant tackle to save his life. Philly gets some youth at S to pair up with dawkins.
27. New Orleans- Patrick Willis
New Orleans gets that force in the middle of their D. Instant upgrade over simaneu (sp?). He should do well with Hollis Thomas clogging the middle in front of him.
28. New England- David Harris
NE addressed youth at S, now they address youth at ILB. Could be eased into the scheme with guys like vrabel and seau helping him out.
29. Baltimore Ravens- Joe Staley
Ravens need a RT now that pashos is gone. They select the best T on the board in Staley.
30. San Diego- Robert Meachem
Rivers gets a new weapon to work with. San Diego can finally have a legitimate number 1 WR as he develops and him + vincent jackson is a good 1+2 duo.
31. Chicago- Aaron Sears
They need some youth on the OL and select Sears. I also gave dwayne bowe some consideration as another weapon for the offense, but i dont know how bears fans feel about that one.
32. Indianapolis- Demarcus Tyler
They had trouble stopping the run. They select the best availble run plugger at their pick.

Draft a RB #1 to go in a dual system? This to me seems more like Chicago in 2004 where they drafted Cedric Benson only to find him on the bench behind Thomas Jones.
7. Minnesota- Brady Quinn
I like tarvaris jackson, but he grades nowhere near brady quinn as a prospect. Childress takes quinn and gets a new franchise QB.
Neither do Charlie Frye or Jason Campbell. But like those two teams, the Vikings have already drafted Tavaris Jackson.
25. New York Jets- Ben Grubbs
They continue to build that young OL. Grubbs, Mangold, and Ferguson are going to help form a dominant unit.
Guard is definitely a need for the Jets with Pete Kendall getting up there in age, but isn't this a bit early for Grubbs?

I'd much rather see the Bengals take Timmons or Okoye, supposedly Okoye is who we're hoping for.

Hey, if Willis falls that far to us then he's ours. Otherwise I guess an ok pick given the situation.

I'll take Griffin and David Harris for the Pats, ILB and DB are 2 of our biggest needs. Griffin is a great safety and can probably play free and strong, but we might take Weddle because he has expereince at FS, SS, and CB (also RB) and seeing as we always have injury issues in the secondary and have little depth anyways, Weddle could be a huge get for the Pats.

Thats the way I see it bigp. Willis is ours if he is left. 49er fan, safety is a big need, but if Willis is left, there is no way the Eagles would let him be left for anyone else.
