Colts O-L

6. Tony Ugoh (Colts) 3.0 sacks allowed (12 starts)
1. Charlie Johnson (Colts) 0 sacks allowed (16 starts)
12. Jeff Saturday (Colts) 2.0 sacks allowed (12 starts)
12. Mike Pollak (Colts) 2.0 sacks allowed (13 starts)
1. Ryan Diem (Colts) 1.5 sacks allowed (16 starts)

I'm quite surprised at these stats in all honesty, I'm not a big Charlie Johnson fan, neither Ryan Diem. I guess Peyton Manning helps these stats a ton due to his pocket presence as early on during out 3-4 start the line looked like a sieve. I'd be very intrigued if similar stats were out there for QB pressures.

I love that my man Max Jean Gilles was second for RGs in sacks allowed, when he is known more as a Road Grader... If it wasn't for Shawn the last few years being a monster, MJG would be a pro bowler for sure. He is massive, 355+ and insanely quick considering his size. I just wish he could get more PT.

A lot of our low sack numbers has to do with how quickly Drew Brees gets rid of the football.

Titans o-line is very nice. 1.1 sacks per player and they basically started every game. Super win win!

4 out of 5 ranked in the Top 5 at their position, and Amano was ranked in the Top 10. Total of 5.5 sacks allowed by the group. In comparison, Giants LT David Diehl alone gave up 6.5 sacks, and as a group gave up 17 sacks.

Best pass-blocking OL in the NFL fellas.

:D
Now if only you had more then just a game manager at QB ;)

The Steelers line sucks at pass-protecting...

Hopefully Urbik and Shipley improve this.

LT: 14. Max Starks - 4 Sacks Allowed (11 Starts)
LG: 31. Chris Kemoeatu - 7.5 Sacks Allowed (16 Starts)
C: 32. Justin Hartwig - 6.5 Sacks Allowed (16 Starts)
RG: 26. Darnell Stapleton - 5 Sacks Allowed (12 Starts)
RT: 17. Willie Colon - 5.75 Sacks Allowed (16 Starts)

Our best player ended up being a guy who wasn't even the starter at the beginning of the season. FML.

Hopefully they can gel together better in this offseason.

At least your blind side blockers weren't both dead last.

Three new starters for us this year that don't even show up on that list, plus position changes all around. This is going to be interesting, to put a non-negative term on it.

Nice to see that the Saints OL did a great job in not allowing a lot of sacks.

LT - 20. Mike Gandy (Cardinals) 6.25 sacks allowed (16 starts)
LG - 8. Reggie Wells (Cardinals) 1.75 sacks allowed (16 starts)
C - 7. Lyle Sendlein (Cardinals) 0.5 sacks allowed (16 starts)
RG - 12. Deuce Lutui (Cardinals) 2.0 sacks allowed (16 starts)
RT - 32. Levi Brown (Cardinals) 11.0 sacks allowed (16 starts)

Surprised to see that Levi gave up the highest amount of sacks for RT's. Gandy actually did a little better than I thought he would have. Now if only the run blocking could be improved.

Seeing those numbers pretty much confirm how things went: OTs were inconsistent, guards were teh suck, but Brad Meester was still boss.

Stats are good if people know the overall picture and use it to confirm it, but if fans or anyone doesn't know the overall picture, and use stats as the end all or rely on it more so, then that's where it can be inaccurate.

Yeah personnel variables are there as well. So if DeMarcus Ware is killing QBs with his sacks, instead of rolling into a game with your usual pass protections you may have to slide the protection to where ever he is, and make the other OLB the hot blitzer. So even that is a variable.

I think all stats are good to have, but I would say they are what they are, you have to measure it against the overall picture and then it will tell the complete story.

But seriously, some people were like, "Oh, Collins has become the wiley vet QB who comes in and plays game manager! He's made a comeback! Hooray!" when in fact he's playing behind one of the best pass-blocking Offensive Lines in his career. It's crazy how he became better last season. But, when the pressure occasionally gets to him, he still turns back into Mr. Hyde. Ole Kerruh and his 55% completion percentage. Scottyboy knows what's up.

Yeah, remember that INT he threw off of his back foot, into double coverage in the redzone during the playoff game vs. the Ravens? Bad Collins. Very bad.

That's the Carrie Collins I remember! Of course he had some good games too for us back in the day. But way too streaky for my liking. The fastest I ever seen Carrie move was on a 3 and out, where he showed Michael Vick speed heading to the sidelines.

It was like a punt. He just friggin' chucked it straight up in the air. I watched it unfold as if it were in slow motion. I'm pretty sure Ed Reed waved for a fair catch before intercepting it.

KFC>VY when playing behind the healthy OL, but if the OL has injuries and the pass-blocking suffers, he's toast. We'd be better off with VY in that situation. I think we're closer to the possibility of VY seeing the field than most people think because of that possibility. VY has his flaws, but no one executes the "Pull somethin' outta your ass play" better than he does. :D

Is it sad that about 1/3 of the Cowboy sacks came against Brad Johnson.
