This is pretty disheartening news, I just hope JJ can recover and get through this, even if he doesn't coach again. He is too valuable of a presence in the game of football to just go off. I hope he makes a full recovery and is able to be involved with the game, in any capacity.
I think McDermott was the no-brainer, and according many sources, one of the top young defensive minds in the NFL. He runs a similar system, but as many have said, he probably just does things a little differently. It may take some adjustment, but nothing major. I wish him the best of luck and I hope he developes into a great Defensive Coordinator for us, whenver that may be.
