Cass I am pretty sure he should have a big year, he isn't the greatest at getting separation but last year he was seeing mostly the opposing teams best corner. This year it will for sure the 2nd best corner, he is a player that really should have a good year and I think a lot of people believe he will.
Problem is they have so many options in Detroit. He was the #1 target at UNC, now he will be like 3rd/4th option AT BEST. The thing is, they drafted him somewhat high, and I am sure they want to use him.
What is up with Pettigrew? I know he gets hurt here and their..but is their something I am missing? Not that good?
I don't think Ebron's role will translate to big fantasy numbers right now. I think he'll have a couple of nice catches down the seam per game. He may be the main slot guy this year though. Haven't seen enough of the first team offense so far.
So I think the plan is Ebron in the slot, Pettigrew mainly blocking TE and slips out in routes.
Pettigrew is an ok blocker, a little slow, bad hands and fumbles occasionally. Sat on the free agent market for a while and couldn't find a deal. Signed a 4/16 mil deal to come back. Can't remember guaranteed money or structure.
Haven't seen them use Fauria a ton in preseason. He may steal redzone TDs as well.
Yea Ebron was defently a luxury pick at a position that rarely goes in the top 10. You have to like all the weapons that the offense now. Nothing wrong with starting a rookie off slow though. Is champ bailey signed now that Bentley is hurt?
I love our chances vs ATL this week. They cannot win on the road and are even worse when outdoors. Hopefully we can go win this game and head into the bye at 6-2 with Calvin set to return for the second half of the season fresh and healthy.
If we can survive one more game with this middling and banged up offense you got to love our chances to take this division. GB looks good and we will have to win some very tough road games in the second half. Taking this game vs atl is very key. We cannot have a let down loss in this spot.
As a falcons fan first and lions fan second the lions are my pick to win the game. On top of the road stuff you mentioned the falcons OL is really really banged up and it wasn't that great to begin with. 5 OL are hurt for the falcons and down to the 3rd string C a rookie UDFA so Sue should have a field day. Also the falcons can't run the ball and don't even really try to establish the run. The only thing worse then the falcons OL is the pass rush so Stafford should have plenty of time to throw.
On paper its an easy pick IMO. But my fear is the let down. Can the coaches keep the locker room focused in this game trying to win 3 in a row in London? If they come to play, it should be hard to win easily. As you said ATL has a bad oline going vs our front 4. Stafford should have plenty of time to throw the ball, and our offense should be able to feed Bell the ball vs a poor run defense.
I would love to see this team come out strong and take this game in a convincing manner, showing little mental effects of a 2 game win streak. It's games like this you see us lose in the past due to mental weakness and poor coaching. With a very tough road schedule after the bye (@Arizona, @NE, @Chi, @GB) with those last 2 outdoors in December. This is a must win game IMO.
