Wait, did that rules official say that the rule isn't clear about what is allowed and what isn't?
And I never realized how douchey some golfers are. Duval said he should withdraw and Faldo said this is going to impact his legacy forever....give me a ******* break.
Today is a perfect example of why social media and all this constant information sucks so much. Tiger got penalized correctly, he shouldn't have withdrawn and he won't even be mentioned with his legacy.
As someone who played some competitive golf, he definitely deserves the penalty if he made an incorrect drop. There are very specific rules about what you can and can't do in that situation. They shouldn't "just let it go because its Tiger". That being said, the other guys suggesting he should be DQ'd or that it will tarnish his legacy are just being ridiculous.
We've missed like half of Tiger's rounds so far, don't they realize he's why 75% of their audience is watching for more than 5 minutes at a time?
I think most of the tournaments are kind of broadcast that way. The only one that isn't that I can think of is the British, because the live broadcast starts in the middle of the night, so its no sweat for the network to show it. To be fair they do show Tiger WAY more than any other player. They normally keep regular tabs on Tiger, Phil, the leaders, then the occasional random dude thrown in here and there.
