Yea, both comparisons are valid in my eyes.

Spiller is overrated as a college runningback, but I can see him having success at the pro level.

Best I don't have as good of a vibe on, but he has real speed.

It's a shame that Kevin Reilly is Best's QB.

Best is fast, but I don't think he's Chris Johnson fast.

And Johnson's speed and hands are really all he has: He doesn't have great cutting ability, he can't block and you'll never see him grind out yards running up the middle. Best is probably better in each of these facets of the game.

I wouldn't mind Spiller being the Lightning to Mendenhall's Thunder.

I'd agree about his pass-blocking and lack of power, but I don't find anything lacking with his cutting ability. Can you elaborate?

I see a lot of similarities between Johnson and Best as well. I think Best is a longer strider, and has slightly better lateral agility. Both guys can just make guys look silly in the open field. Best also looks more like a pure RB, whereas CJ was a RB/WR tweener who was used all over the place in East Carolina. One thing that sets CJ apart is his speed and that there is literally no wasted movement when he runs.

I love Jahvid Best. Spiller is more of an all purpose back. I've come around on him lately, but his role will still be limited at the next level. Best on the other hand, I feel, is capable of being a starting runningback. He probably needs a big back to spell him, but I can still see him being a 200+ carry guy.

It may be just me, because I only see the Titans play twice a year. But Johnson, while a smooth runner, doesn't make a whole lot of lateral movement. Rather, he uses his raw and indefensable speed to force the defender to overpursue. From there, it's just a simple correct and he's off to the races.

I agree. I see the same thing from Best, though.
