It was too humid today. My back and pits were soaked for a couple hours after walking around with a backpack for about 30 mins outside. It wasn't sensibly hot since it was around 80, but ugh humidity.
Now it's getting cooler :P

Continental climates are so extreme in variance. -50 in winter to 100 in summer.

Maybe I should just buy a second house on the Hudson Bay.

AQ is correct. The continental climates have the greatest swing in seasonal temperatures due to the mixture of polar and tropical winds and being located inland from the major bodies of water.
I'm currently teaching a climate unit to 7th graders.... i hate teaching geography. It is so boring. :(

I didn't mind the geography courses I've taken so far. Geography of Europe was especially good, but that had a lot more cultural discussion in it.
Anyway, it is ******* cold.

I'm taking a Physical Geography course, so I know exactly wassup. The_Dude is correct; it does get hot up there. You've never heard of heat waves? Florida is moderate compared to other states. We rarely touch 100 - at the most we get into the mid 90s. Whereas other states can touch those numbers a week or so out of the year.

Not this year... but last year was pretty brutal. and it's not by any stretch of imagination a 'dry heat'. and we don't get rain every day like Florida.
It's still low-mid 90's most of the summer. about 84-88 where I live (near the lake... hence the phrase cooler near the lake...), but, it has no problem ramping up to 97, 101... 104... AND THEN TO TOP IT OFF. the very same winter, it goes down to 12, 15 below zero.
and not everyone has air conditioning either.
the south only exists because of advances in air conditioning technology.

Nobody knows weather extremes like people in the mid-west. It can be 70 degrees one day, then the next be 30 and snowing. And not to mention in the summer it gets humid as hell. Oh, and we have tornadoes as well.

Depends on how much you like fog. If everyone here hates cold, San Francisco will severely disappoint.
