DeMarco Murray
Why is noone talking about him? IMO, he reminds me alittle of Matt Forte. I believe he is an underrated prospect in this year's or next year's draft. Very smooth runner and a very good reciever. I really think he could be a first rounder this year. Discuss.

I've always been a big fan of him. He's inconsistent, though. Would like to see him as the main back, but I don't think that will ever happen.

Dude needs to stay healthy, it seems he injures his knee in every other game. I know he had some trouble with it yesterday against Texas, but he still played an excellent game.
The thing I like most about him is his second gear. He displayed it very nicely yesterday by following his blocks, then once he recognizes an open hole, he'll suddenly burst through it with his second gear.
Very versatile as well. I think if he can stay healthy, then he can be very effective at the next level. I think he has the potential to start, but he has a while to go.

he would be a first day pick if he could stay healthy
but he can't
And it are knee injuries and those always worry me

He's nothing at all like Forte(he has 4.4 speed by the looks of it. Speed is his game), but he is a talented guy. If he had come out last year, I would have had him as one of my top backs, but he's really struggled with injuries this year. Reminds me of a lot of McFadden, has some of the same talents and issues.

I gotta agree with some of it.
He is nothing like Forte, he is faster than him and at times almost looks like he is more powerful. I've seen him truck some big dudes.
Now, McFadden was another bad example. McFadden was shifty, fast and had good burst but he always went down on 1st contact. Murray isn't very much like McFadden other than he has some good speed. Murray has more power.
Not tring to make him out to be some elite guy, but those aren't very good examples.
Maybe someone close was Kevin Jones when he played for VaTech. He had good speed, ran over people and could make some cuts. He never really improved in the NFL, if anything he got worse. Injuries really hurt him.
Lets hope Injuries don't destroy this guy's career.

DeMarco Murray does remind me a bit of Jones, both run in the 4.4s, both can run people over, both can catch, and unfortunately both have suffered from injuries. They also are a similar size. Kevin Jones was a beast, if he didn't go to the Lions, I think we would have seen a much better RB, I really liked him it's too bad injuries really killed him.

He could end up being like Steve Slaton. Dropped due to injuries.

I thought it was his lack of size and speed?

If I recall, it was a combination of all of those, but mostly the size and injuries.

He just can't stay healthy but he's an incredible talent. I think he's a 3rd-4th Rd type of prospect right now and he has a chance to be a huge steal if he can stay healthy at the next level.

I don't know, McFadden in college made a name breaking arm tackles. Once he got to the NFL he started going down on contact, but when he was in college he wasn't the easiest guy to bring down. Guys getting bigger and stronger has really been a problem for him. Murray doesn't really strike me as the type of guy who is going to do well after contact in the NFL either.
Jones isn't a bad example either. Maybe he's closer to Jones at this point seeing as he's bulked up quite a bit this season and seems to have gotten stronger as well. Ultimately, I don't see him as much of a power threat in the NFL. Doesn't look like he has the lower body strength.

Do you not remember the scouting reports and everytime Mayock talked about McFadden is was always about him going down on 1st contact.

The big knock on him was that his lower body strength was going to limit him from breaking tackles at the next level. I saw him absorb plenty of contact at Arkansas and stay on his feet. Granted, it was so hard to get an angle on him because of his speed and quickness, but he didn't go down on arm tackles and could absorb some initial pop.

Let me get this straight. According to BigBanger every team should skip their pick until about the 3rd round because there's nobody worth taking in the first 2 rounds

This is what the internet draft community ultimately produces.
