Classic example; His father works for ESPN, so yeah, suspend the coach. If the kid was son of Mr. Joseph from the grocery shop, nothing would happen.

If Bobby Knight got another shot to coach why wouldnt leach? He runs a great offense and is a winner someone will give him a shot

And what? Be the offensive coordinator next to Bronco Mendenhall?
What I think is more likely to happen is that some program that has been down on it's luck for a while will hire the guy and he'll have to build his resume again before given a shot in the big leagues (BCS Conferences).

Michael Crabtree wasn't holding out. Mike Leach just locked him in an electrical room for the first 5 weeks of the season.

this is ridiculous. What he was accused of, even if true was no where near a sackable offense.
It seems like the the AD and Leach do not see eye to eye and the guy used this to get rid of him. I think he got fired, basically because he got an injunction to coach the game. The investigation of the original 'offense' had not even been finished yet.

Leach won me over forever with his 'fat little girlfriends' rant. Someone needs to hire asap. Who cares if he put a scrub in a closet, this team was one loss away from the national championship game like a year ago.

yeah you guys are absolutely right this is the players fault, leach was just trying to make him play better by locking him in a room when he had just a little concussion who cares about concussions they are never serious

Being told to stay in a cool dark room (away from sunlight) is not bad for concussions. Especially since he was under supervision.
I teach at a university and work in a very loud, bright office. I get frequent pressure headaches that i never got at home due to different weather. When I get these headaches I go to an empty room, close the door, turn off the lights and sit there. Obviously I'm some kind of sadist.
This whole thing stinks. Either the admin has more info that is damning or this is a ploy to not pay the man.
Just judging from the lack of prior similar complaints from players and the previous animosity between Leach and the admin...I'm going to say it;s the latter.

Sitting in a dark room is normal after suffering a concussion, but can't you just turn the lights out in the locker room?
There were much bigger issues between Leach and Texas Tech's AD. The only reason that this got out is so that they could use it against him. I don't condone what Leach did, he should know better. But there are more things that will surface as this goes on.

I was actually thinking of North Texas as a good fit. They used be a solid school in the Sun Belt and have fallen on hard times.

A news crew showed the rooms he was locked in and they were so exxagerated. One was a room where media takes interviews for the visiting team and I forgot what the other room was but it was also pretty big.

Big mistake by Texas Tech. I'm really intrigued to see where he ends up.

this is incredible, just look at Dodd's article at cbssports.com, he got a whole bunch of letter proving that James is a selfish prima-donna and that Leach was a great coach. The "closet" was a meeting room. Not a closed space or whatever. A Mild concussion is not a life-threatning injury or anything, and he was supervised. That(the firing) just seems like a vendeta move from the school for the whole contract mess they had at earlier this year. TTech is dead without Leach. I hope he gets Sherman's job at A&M, he could be a national player with that kind of talent pool.

I hope the rest of the team beats the hell out of James for being a prick.
