Last time I checked Bills want vet coach. Unless they change their mind, Scotty does not fit that bill. Grimm or Bowles would be ahead of Scotty on my book. We will see.

Sanchez on the other hand is another story. He's got plenty of talent surrounding him on the Jets roster. I mean, Jones, Faneca and Mangold are pro bowlers and Ferguson is a first alternate.
Cotchery and Edwards aren't exactly Fitzgerald and Boldin, but they're not David Boston and Kassim Osgood either.

time and talent are different between them. yeah.. Marty liked to have stronger run game. Brees barely survived in run oriented offense. Once Chargers got Manning then traded for Rivers and Gates surfaced, Brees become better a passer. Timing was right for Brees.
Jets have strength in run game already when Ryan joined with Jets but Ryan wanted more run game so he could have better defense. Basically, Sanchez's pass game is a bonus if successful. Due to his lack of experience, he struggled as a passer. It is nothing wrong with Sanchez because it is totally unfair to compare him to Ryan and Flacco who had been starter for at least 3 full years in college. Jets lead NFL in run game and defense so it is successful season for Jets.
Once Cotchery and Edwards work with Sanchez like Manning with James and Harrison, Jets will have a pass game which may be better than Cameron's offense. I hope.

If so then I am very curious about him gathering staffs because it feels like Billick has been away from coaching for many years. lol.

It's really going to get annoying how I'm sure every team with a need at DC is going to mention getting Zimmer.
I'd say he either gets a HC job, stays in Cincy or goes to the Redskins because they will offer him 10x the going rate. I really don't see another scenario happening.
The guy definitely earned some consideration for a HC job and I will be happy for him if/when he gets it.
Marvin will probably be able to tell him a thing or two about going to the Redskins for money.

The Bills should fire Buffalo and hire Toronto.

The timing? No, the talent was right. As you mentioned Antonio Gates surfaced, but there was also this.
Damion McIntosh
Kelvin Garmon
Jason Ball
Phil Bogle
Courtney Van Buren
to
Roman Oben
Toniu Fonoti
Nick Hardwick
Mike Goff
Shane Olivea
from one year to the next.

After reviewing Brees timeline, he was actually not that bad in his rookie season with over 3k passing yards and 17 td, 16 ints as Chargers finished 8-8. OL was big change but it did not affect LT at all. However, in 2003, Brees hit sophomore slump and missed 5 games as Chargers went 4-12 before bounced back to 12-4 as AFC West Champ.
So forget all craps about comparison of Cam and Scotty. I prefer having a rough rookie season to sophomore slump.

All this Sanchez talk...Jets aren't going to win the Super Bowl. If they want to win the Super Bowl they will need to develop Sanchez and get him some playoff experience. This is their opportunity, he needs to be thrown even further into the fire.

You have to think that Ryan is going to play this first game, with both his QB and team, as conservative as possible.

Honestly those numbers make his first year look pretty good, but he really wasn't. 2003 he lost his job to the immortal Doug Flutie. T-riffic in 04 though.

I know it was talked about a few pages ago but, Zimmer has little value to a 3-4 defensive team. He's a 4-3 guru, who struggled making the transition to the 3-4. He didnt know what the hell he was doing. It was a mess. The guy is a 4-3 guy through and through...one of the best in the business.

He'll be fine assuming he has enough intelligence to dump Greg Olson (the offensive coordinator) this offseason.
Morris has made more than his share of mistakes, but I don't think that's unexpected from a guy who had never even been a coordinator before this season. The improvement by the defense since he canned Jim Bates and the 2-game winning streak, as well as the vote of confidence by the players likely saved him from being one-and-done.

He probably will not be sent packing Monday, but a San Jose Mercury News report indicates the Raiders will likely fire head coach Tom Cable.
Citing several people close to Raiders owner Al Davis, the report says Davis is inclined to fire Cable, who led Oakland to a 5-11 record this season. Davis has yet to comment publicly on the head-coaching situation. Cable said he expects to be coaching the Raiders in 2010 when asked about his future during a press conference following his team's 21-13 loss to the Ravens on Sunday.
Cable became the Raiders' interim head coach four games into the 2008 season when he replaced Lane Kiffin. Davis decided to retain Cable as head coach in the offseason.
There may be a difference of opinion between Cable on Davis on QB JaMarcus Russell, the No. 1 overall pick in ’07, which could help lead to Cable's dismissal. The head coach has made it clear that he thinks the team is better off with someone else under center at this point, and he stripped Russell of starting duties, replacing him with Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye, but Davis may be interested in finding a coach that will commit to reinstalling Russell as a starter in ’10.
