MVP - Wes Welker

Biggest Surprise - Sebastian Vollmer as an elite tackle on both sides of the line. Julian Edelman classifies as a nice surprise. Myron Pryor as well. Tully Banta-Cain leading the Patriots in sacks. Trading away Richard Seymour before any football was played.

Biggest Disappointment - Randy Moss's loss of a gear, the pass rush, Ron Brace's limited playing time being highlighted by lots of mistakes and poor form.

Best Rookie - Sebastian Vollmer, without question.

Underachieving Rookie - Ron Brace. Just didn't contribute at all almost. When he did, it was disappointing at best.

Offensive MVP - Wes Welker

Defensive MVP - Brandon Meriweather and Jerod Mayo both made strong cases. Not really sure which to take. Meriweather was burned a few times for long passing gains (see the Saints game for lots of examples) but Mayo was questionable in run support a few times as well. Both made great plays though. Mike Wright was the most consistent producer on the defensive line.

I guess what they're saying is that even though he hasn't been his usual self, Jay is still an enormous upgrade over Sexy Rexy. Or Kyle Orton for that matter.

MVP - Aaron Rodgers. Could make a case for Woodson, but without Rodgers, this team is nothing.

Biggest Surprise - Clay Matthews. He was an absolute force. Started the year as a backup, and worked his way all the way to the ProBowl. Stud. Could have said Jermichael Finley but many Packer fans (including me) were expecting a big breakout year.

Biggest Disappointment - Allen Barbre.... was supposed to be the starting RT for the year, but his beyond awful play made us scramble and resign an old and injured Mark Tauscher... Barbre went from RT of the future (and present) to inactive for most of the games at the end.

Best Rookie - Clay Matthews. Easy call.

Under Achieving Rookie - Brandon Underwood If you can't beat out Jarrett Bush for playing time, theres something wrong.

Offensive MVP - Aaron Rodgers No brainer.

Deffensive MVP - Charles Woodson. No brainer.

definitely is an upgrade. when they made that trade, as a vikings fan, i was very worried. but all im saying is that if jay cutlerception was your mvp, your year must have sucked lol. and i also think that you guys would have been just as well off with orton and your first round picks, because while cutler was the reason they one a few games, he also single handedly took them out of some.

Well, yes. Of course it says everything about their season. I can't imagine any fan of the Bears disagreeing with you that this was not a good season.

Also I don't know what a 'Cutlerception' is. But if it's an attept to fuse together 'Cutler' and 'Deception' (or 'Interception') for comedic value, it didn't work and made little sense. I'd go for 'Jay Cutastrophe'.

That was the gist of mine anyway....but see how i also had him as the biggest disappointment. Only a Bears QB could possibly be MVP and the biggest disappointment, lol.

And I think we may very well have been even worse than a 4 win team....probably a bottom 5 team in the league without him.....we had absolutely nothing else on either side of the ball.

MVP- Tony Romo, best ball handling in the pocket, selling fakes & nuancing DBs in the NFL

Biggest Surprise- Miles Austin, set club rcd. for single game receiving yardage; Doug Free subbing for Columbo on the o-line; beating the unbeaten Saints in NOLA; erasing the December jinx; destroying the Eagles in all 3 games, 3-0

Biggest Disappointment- Nick Folk.... from rookie in the Pro Bowl to career over in < 3 yrs.

Best Rookie - Kevin Ogletree became a new weapon for Romo

Underachieving Rookie - Stephen McGee

Offensive MVP - Miles Austin

Defensive MVP- Keith Brooking, a bunch of overachievers on defense needed this rah-rah cheerleader-type aged veteran underachiever to gel them back into the force they were once

Jay Cutastrophe is awesome. That is sheer brilliance. Cutlerception is what people on this site and many other sites call an interception thrown by Jay Cutler, because interception and Jay Cutler are synonymous.

MVP - Peyton Manning - No surprise here.

Biggest Surprise - Pierre Garcon - I'm not sure Anthony Gonzales will get his starting job back. Dan Muir gets consideration too.

Biggest Disappointment - Bob Sanders, though my expectations were pretty low to begin with. You could also say Ed Johnson for being a total loser.

Best Rookie - Austin Collie or Jerraud Powers, both far exceeded expectations.

Underachieving Rookie - Fili Moala, though I don't think it's time to give up on him yet.

Offensive MVP - Outside of Manning, I'll say Dallas Clark.

Defensive MVP - Every year he's healthy, it's Dwight Freeney.

Biggest Surprise-Brian Hartline. Nobody liked the pick, but he was a damn good WR for us this year.

Biggest Disappointment-I'd say Ted Ginn, but we gave Gibril Wilson and Yeremiah Bell decent sized contracts and they sucked.

Best Rookie- Vontae Davis. He got burnt quite a bit this year, but he also made big plays for us and brought fire to the defense

Underachieving Rookie-Patrick Turner. Only active 2 or 3 games, and for a team lacking a redzone threat, it says something that he's not getting PT

Offensive MVP-Davone Bess. Had some fumbling problems midseason, but was money on 3rd downs. I think he was 2nd or 3rd in the NFL in catches for 1st downs

Defensive MVP-Randy Starks. Our most consistent pass rush, and great against the run

LOL...you know its sad when Derrick Dockery is your offensive MVP.

I'll agree with all this except replace Hall with Laron Landry.

Just filled in some explanations for my picks. Because I know you're all dying to know more about my Bills.

MVP - Fred Jackson

--- He did it all for us. First player in NFL history with 1000 rushing and 1000 return yards. Led NFL in all purpose yards. 2nd on the team in receptions. Ran hard as balls and played like a true workhorse. Kept whatever offense we had going.

Biggest Surprise- Drayton Florence

--- Took over the starting job very early in the year for the injured McKelvin and performed well above expectations. This is what teams were hoping for when he got big money last year. I really didn't think he could play that well on the outside, but he was a great cover corner this year. I give him the nod, even if he was a classic over-celebrator on every play he made.

Biggest Disappointment- Owens/Evans combining for less than 100 catches.

--- Pathetic. Regarded as one of the best duos in the league in the preseason, such a flop. They tried forcing the ball to Owens, and probably didn't give it enough to Evans, at least in a feasible manner. Sending him on fly routes and overthrowing him by 10 yards became a tired sight. Fitzpatrick was more successful getting these guys the ball, actually trusting Evans to make plays. A lot of it does come down to the offense and quarterback play, but come on. Dallas Clark had more receptions than these guys put together. It probably sounds like I'm defending Evans too much, but I'll say that he was probably the worst value in the league this year with his mammoth contract. It doesn't have to be this way, his talent is still on display, but it sure was with how he was used this year.

Best Rookie- Jairus Byrd

- What can you say about Jairus Byrd? 8 picks in 5 games fromn when he began starting through when he came down with what would turn out to be a season-ending injury. Not a very good tackler, sure. But he just about completely took away the deep passing game for a streak of games. Named to the Pro Bowl.
Eric Wood looked like a mauler, albeit a little hot and cold, before he got hurt. But this is obviously Byrd.

Underachieving Rookie- Mayyyyybin

--- Still hating this. Did very little, even less as a pass rusher. Didn't expect much from him this year, and he was needed even less than we thought, but I can still put him here rather easily.

Offensive MVP- Fred Jackson

- We talked about this stud already.

Defensive MVP- Aaron Schobel

--- Big comeback year for the second best pass rusher in Bills history. After missing almost all of last year, Schobel put up double digit sacks this season. The big plays were there - an INT returned for a TD to go with 3 forced fumbles. Top-10 in every major defensive category among defensive ends. A constant source of pressure from the edge, even if it was often times a wide-around. I'd say he was surely the best and most important player on our defense this year.

The best surprise could really be a number of guys in the secondary - Florence, Byrd, George Wilson. These guys performed admirably with the big names on the shelf.

MVP-Jake Long - best player on our team and he gave Henne the time he needed so he didn't become a shell-shocked first year starter.

Biggest Surprise-Brian Hartline - went from preseason being our 6th receiver to easily being the number one receiver.

Biggest Disappointment-Ted Ginn, he regressed this year despite having a QB take over that should have made him into a star. The extra mustard henne added to passes brought out his questionable hands.

Best Rookie- Vontae Davis - sean smith regressed as the season wore down and davis only got better and better. probably the best playmaker we've had in the secondary since Brock Marion in the early 2000s.

Underachieving Rookie-Pat White - Patrick Turner wasn't active often so he could get the nod but Pat White was downright TERRIBLE whenever he stepped on the football field. he didn't complete a pass all season and wasn't a playmaker in the run game like he was in college.

Offensive MVP - Ricky Williams - Ronnie Brown was a beast until his injury but Ricky was the most consistent performer on offense. Chad Henne gets an honorable mention for performing so well under the circumstances.

Defensive MVP-Randy Starks the most complete player we had on defense. a rare playmaker from the 3-4 DE spot.
