I love ND's recruiting clas! We probably never gonna win a recruiting national title since ND doesn't over sign like other schools. But team needs have been addressed, and its a class full of studs.
The top recruiting classes IMO are....
1-Georgia
2-Clemson
3-LSU
4-Alabama
5-Notre Dame

Read that list: Clinton-Dix, Shinn, Woodson, Calloway, Jones, Sunseri, Collins, & Love are in-state.

Out of Scout's top 40 ranked players in Virginia, UVA got 25 of those guys including 8 of the top 10 in the state. That's called keeping talent in state. At least Carolina isn't stealing our local talent anymore. Curtis Grant was the only top recruit in the entire state of Virginia who left the Metro D.C. area. Mike London could be building something special, a far better recruiting class than Vatech and Maryland. London is building a pipeline in the Hampton Roads area which will pay big in the future and keep some of those guys from going to tech or out of state.

I don't like it when fans say a school is "stealing' talent from another state. Schools have the right to recruit in any state they want. Players have a right to go to the school they want. There's no stealing going on.

UW signed 3 of the 4 plays in america that I wanted. F***in Mamba. At least we got a top tier TE, the Parade Player of the Year and Antavius Sims.

As a UW fan, I'd rather he would have stayed at 'SC than go to Oregon. Oh well, maybe he'll be their first heisman trophy winner, and he'll bring them their first Rose Bowl win in forever. Wouldn't count on it though.

I didnt even want him to play RB at SC....he'd be a lock down corner.
Supposedly Oregon had a homogram type set up or a virtual simulator that showed him what he would look like in their offense and what not and really sold him on the idea....Idk, ill try and find the link but it sounds like they pulled out all the stops for him.
Phil Knight prolly promised him his own line on black mamba shoes.

Just watched his announcement video and he was quite emotional. As much as it may anger USC fans at the switch just be blessed with what recruits are coming. These are still boys at the end of the day and what they see as their best opportunity has to outweigh what we as fans may want.

Plus it's one more open spot for some midwest studs next year. ;)

UVA has certainly surprised me with the way they have recruited given how they have been borderline bowl eligible for awile now. London is getting it done it seems.. I wanted Demetrius Nicholson badly too. Anyway, we have signed a couple kids from VA with high praise, but as a whole you guys probably overcame people taking your talent this year for whatever reason. Travis Hughes and Landon Turner are the major signings for us and both will probably see the field alot.

So how did those over signing rules work this year? Everyone except the Big 10 pretty much does it.

Well, everyone is allowed to do so by the NCAA. As long as they have only 85 on scholly by fall (I believe).
I think the Big Ten is the only conference that actually limits teams to 25 recruits per class, or 28 with EEs/greyshirts.
Pretty much it's not against the rules, but it's seen as pretty unethical, especially when it comes out that guys like Saban will force 5th year seniors to take medical scholarships when they don't need them so that the athletic scholly is open for a recruit.

There is an NCAA rule that limits them to 28, signed LOI between Feb and Aug, something like that. But then again we know the NCAA are hypocrites for football and turn a blind eye to the sport. Once in a while they come out and set an example then go back to hiding. Signing 32 helps lower the chances of making a mistake.
