There was a poll earlier...I voted Patriots. Not the most impressive roster, but the Steelers were a fairly underwhelming super bowl champ as well, and 2005 Ben isn't the same player as 2008 Ben. 2001 Brady dinks and dunks his way to victory.

2005 Ben was no where near the Ben we know today.
BB would have killed a rookie Ben. Hell, the Seahawks vanilla defense helped by Kelly Herndon did.
Plus that 2001 Pats team was the first to not be introduced individually before the Super Bowl. They weren't so talented but they were well-coached, opportunistic, and cohesive.

The Patriots defense that year was fantastic, and Tom Brady was on an absolutely magical run. Combine that with Bill Belicheck licking his chops at a struggling QB and you'd get a Pats win.

yeah this one is clearly Pats. The man reason is because the B Roth then is not nearly as good/clutch as the B Roth now.

Except Ben Roethlisberger wasn't a rookie. I think the Steelers would win this matchup. Once the Steelers got into the playoffs they had to play all of their games on the road and win four straight to win it all.

Big Ben was money throughout the 2005 playoffs. Yeah he had a bad Super Bowl, but don't say a "struggling QB" when he wasn't even struggling.
Homer in me says the Steelers. This time the Patriots cant be cheating.

01 Pats beat the Rams that year, who were a MUCH better team than the 05 Steelers.

By that logic you should be voting for the Giants in the other thread.
