I would lean towards Avila. But I do have an irrational hatred of Soto.

Avila easily. Soto hasn't been fantasy relevant in a couple years.

The US team pitchers for the Future's Game is loaded.
Baur, Bundy, Wheeler, Cole, Taillon, Walker, Hultzen to name a few. Yikes.

Don't think they bring up Hultzen until the trade deadline. Milwood and Vargas both figure to be gone then opening a spot for Hultzen. He's also got a pretty big adjustment waiting for him in AAA with all those crazy hitters parks.

anyone know if Daniel Hudson can be sent down to the minors? wouldn't mind bringing up Bauer and letting him figure out what's wrong

Saw this on an ESPN.com poll about an innings limit for Strasburg and whether or not the Nationals should/will impose one. What does everyone think? I think that was the original plan but I also dont think they realistically planned on contending. With that said, there are very few times I would let Strasburg go more than 6/7 innings until Late Aug/Sept with how reliable Clippard and Burnett have been. His pitch count has gotten into the 110s more thsn once this season, and without looking at the circumstances of the games, thats rather irresponsile considering how early it is still.

They will impose one. Preserving Strasburg for the future and being able to build a team that can contend every year is wayyyy more important to Rizzo than trying to go for it this year.

They tried to preserve Strasburg and he ended up getting Tommy John. Let him pitch.

I'm not saying I agree, I'm just saying that, living near DC and following the team/hearing all the local media people, they will shut him down just like they did Jordan Zimmermann last year. If I was in charge, and we were in contention, I'd be pitching him every 5th day for sure.

I think the Nationals should just go to a 4 man rotation, with a max of 75 pitches per start.

The problem is, aside from Edwin Jackson, the other three starters are really inefficient. Limit them to 75 pitches and I wouldn't be shocked if they only went 4 innings the majority of the time.
Detwiler and Wang have both been better out of the pen then in the rotation though haha. John Lannan isn't exactly dominating AAA but I'm still surprised he hasn't been traded or anything. He's an innings eater that will give you a quality start every time he's out there and would be a good 4/5 starter on most teams.

He was making fun of the Rockies. They'll probably just skip Stras a few starts in July/August though. That seems like the most logical thing to me at least.

It looks like he might have 1 option year left so if he does then yeah you could.

He's one of the worst managers ever. Rockies should can him already but with Tulo out for the next 2 months the season is over anyway already.
