I always just ignored BABIP for the ASG, should be best player at the time, who cares if he is gonna regress dramatically

This takes into account UZR for first baseman (which is EXTREMELY faulty), and who cares about factoring in BABIP for use of present day performance. In the future sure, but you can't hate on a guys performance to date with BABIP. It's stupid use of the stat (although a lot of people still don't understand it).

Even so, LaRoche strikes out less, walks more and has a better ISO than Lahair. It's not cut and dry that one is significantly better than the other.

But all of these are predictors of future performance, you can't use that when LaHair has a better line in every single way right now. Hell, their difference in all of those categories is marginal at best.

I'll trade you all-star shortstop Ian Desmond for non all-star second baseman Aaron Hill. What do you say?

Not over Goldschmidt and not absolutely that much more so than LaRoche. Regardless, the ASG is balls and r-worded.

I'll grab another middle infielder in the deal because clearly Desmond, being an all-star, is worth two players.

And yes, I meant as all-stars.

Billy Hamilton has 100 SB in 78 games with an 83% success rate.
Goes well with his .417 OBP.
