After Norris threw 4 straight balls to Belt, Crawford goes up and swings at every pitch..

... with the bases loaded and none of the 3 pitches were in the strikezone. He's clueless up there.

Didn't Texas say they won't trade Profar OR Olt for Upton?

Over just because I expect him to Strikeout at least once.

That's funny because I was literally just talking to a guy who thought "Grant Green + some B-C type pitching prospects for Upton" was a reasonable deal. I laughed hard.

:-D Maybe I can troll harder...
I don't want to give up Grant Green for Upton because Grant Green is too valuable to this franchise as a guy who can play on the left side of the infield.

The Athletics are on fire lately with a 9-1 record in July and they're undoubtedly the hottest team in baseball. They're now 3 games over .500 and they're a .5 game out of the wildcard spot. And they're about to face a big test, they now have two homestands against the Rangers and Yankees.
Lets say this team can keep it up, the A's should be getting Brett Anderson and Dallas Braden back for a run in August or September. That's a boost.
And Chris Carter is finally here folks. Once a top 30 prospect in baseball, he was a centerpiece in the Dan Haren trade and scouts lauded his power, noting that he has Ryan Howard type power. And after years of mashing in the minors and struggling in the majors, he's mashing in the majors.

Great to finally see Scott Rolen pull through for my Redlegs last night. He will be an integral part to our playoff run this season even with Frazier's success. If the man can just stay healthy I think he's going to be good offensively and his defense is always there.
I hope I just witnessed Homer Bailey mature right in front of my eyes because if he can continue to be someone we can count on to give us a quality outing it can really round out our rotation and make me a lot more optimistic of our chances going forward.

Marte didn't play last night. Pirates called it routine rest, but given that he only played 3 games since the break, I doubt he needed any rest. I'm praying hes gonna be in the lineup tonight, but I think it's more likely he's gonna get dealt.

Is he worth a call up in September just to be on the postseason roster if the Reds make it? He could be the difference in a one run game as a pinch runner.

I guarantee that he is called up in September when rosters expand if the Reds are still in the hunt.

Pirates get Presley off DL instead of calling up Marte. This whole keeping him down to the deadline game is getting old when we have had a utility infielder starting everyday in the of.
It's hurting the team. Get him up now. Regardless of if you're going to deal him. Let him help us now.

If Marte wasn't so inconsistent, I'd be with you. But boy has he been frustrating in AAA this year. Let him develop. I don't want another Pedro, Tabs, or Presley. I want a Walker and Cutch. They let them develop. They rushed Pedro, Tabs, and Presley.
If they bring him up, he's going to struggle I think. Once he learns to take pitches and not swing at everything, go right ahead and bring him up.

I think he would be. I know a lot don't agree.
I hope he is. At some point the future has to become now. And with how our starting pitching has been and our bull pen has been lights out all year, we need to do whatever we can to get better on offense.
