It's a waste of Posey's value to not play him at catcher.

Posey plays 1st instead of bench on his days off. Love keeping his bat in the lineup.

I know. I don't think that's best for his long term health though, just look at what happened with Russell Martin in LA.

Yeah. Catchers need the day off. It'd be one thing if it was the AL and he was just DH'ing, but you can't have your guy out there like that all the time. He's not going to last doing that. And the benefit really isn't that good for the Giants anyway.

Pretty awful outing for Harvey. Kept falling behind, gave up 6 through four. Mets can't be excited.

Alex Gordon has been so ******* good since June... Actually could care less about his power numbers as long as he's getting on base (his ******* job).

I still like my Bisons, as much as the Mets have ruined them. I even went to a majors game last month. I just don't know things or get particularly excited over any of it.

I agree with most of that, but he's our best hitter and our cleanup hitter. I think the benefit to having him out there is obvious.

Lorenzo Cain has been better than Melky Cabrera since he came off the DL. Small sample size? **** you. Let me have this.

Jay Bruce is entering Babe Ruth mode.
He will destroy in late July thru August.
Then hit .250 the rest of the way.

I know it's 1 AB too late, but how pathetic do you have to be in order to let Derek Norris get a steal off you?

I don't get to see a ton of games, but 2 things seem to be hurting him.
1. He's been dealign with hip issues this year. That has taken away his lower body from his swing.
2. He's trying to put everything in the air. He's taken up a big upper cut in his swing which couple with his lack of lower body power is just a recipe for disaster for the guy who check in around a buck-forty.
Definitely a down year. We will see if he bounces back late this year. I'd give him next year to recover as well.

How ridiculous is Sean Doolittle right now? The dude hits the pros as a two-way player from UVA and is switched to 1B fulltime. He gets off to a crazy start in Stockton and carries on great production in AA Midland.
Then he gets hurt and basically doesn't play baseball for 2 years. He switches positions back to pitcher and and flies all the way through the minors in 2 months.
This guy's FIP is 0.75!

The weird thing is his ground ball rate is up 10% from last season.

I'm starting to think that Shane Victorino (or likely Juan Pierre) is as good as gone with Domonic Brown looking a bit better as of late.
Got to see a few Lehigh games, Brown's new swing is AWESOME, which is totally not a word you should use for someone's swing. He's still a trainwreck when it comes to reading fly balls, however; he looks like he's aware of what's happening as opposed to Hunter Pence.
