Wait, did I seriously read that the Pirates are considering moving McDonald to the pen? I know he's been bad since the ASB but damn, that's a pretty drastic conclusion. He goes from being one of the better SP in the NL in the first half to a RP in the 2nd half

The guy was pretty obviously a flash in the pan. I wouldn't expect much of anything from him going forward.
One hit wonder, yo

I hope so, because I dropped his ass at the start of the season this year in my dynasty league and was regretting the move
I feel somewhat vindicated

Sorry Giants fans. That's a real ****** break.
Other thoughts:
A complete tear-down and build around Adrian Gonzalez, Middlebrooks and maybe Buchholz might be the best course of action for Boston. They have all of the signs of a team that's going down in flames. When you have a bunch of players who were so used to one way, and then get angry when there are changes to those ways, it might be the time to rebuild.
I think the Nats did a lousy job handling Strasburg this season. The inning limit was not wrong, but you don't go fast on a long distance bike race and then slam on the brakes near the end of the race, because you will go flying a long way. If they spaced out his starts better, this might not have been a problem. The Nats are winning on pitching and taking him out right in the middle of a race that they are winning is just how you make yourself look bad and lose a lot of fans in the process. Players are angry about this too. This is a team that hasn't played in the postseason since 1933, any time you can get there is special.

Um its who the ******* best hitter is, not who the best homerun hitter is. And Matt Holliday rakes. No way am I going to say a guy with a ******* .253 career BA is one of the best hitters in the game. Home run hitters, sure.

Not gonna get into this argument again.
I will say I am shocked at how undervalued the long ball is.

Side note: it should be fun to see how the AL MVP voting turns out between Miguel and Trout. They're neck and neck. I think Trout probably wins out due to being a fan favorite and all. Still baffles me how Cabrera has never won an mvp award.

How quick do you think Cherington and Epstein picked up the phone and tried to sell Sabean on taking either Crawford or Soriano?
