If someone snipes the 30,000th post in this thread while I'm typing this. Rage.

I'd like to dedicate the 30,001st post to a long lost brother in Tampa. I miss the man.

For the 30,002nd post, Id like to remember the good times in Houston, even through awful seasons, because those good times end next year when theyre forced into the horrible, horrible American League.

For 30,006 I'd like to say the Mets blow and Wilpon should run in the street with his son.

Yankees do not have any stacks of toilet papers. That means Yankees better not fall behind Orioles or Rays in this very September. SOB!!

As someone who is rooting for the Yankees to miss the playoffs, I thought about this little tidbit.
Yankees miss the playoffs.
Red Sox miss the playoffs.
Phillies miss the playoffs.
No one is watching playoff baseball with Washington shutting down Strasburg. Oakland and Tampa Bay cant fill their stadiums. This is a nightmare for the MLB.

Andy Dalton threw out the first pitch in tonight's Reds game to AJ Green.

I'll never understand why people actually choose not to watch the playoffs just because they aren't the same old teams. Are people actually that attached to watching the same teams year in and year out?

Joey Votto is scheduled to start tomorrow. Now we get to see Todd Fraiser on the bench with Rolen in the starting lineup.

Unless the Yankees are in it I won't watch any playoff baseball except a game 7 in the World Series. I just don't care enough. Phillies or A's it doesn't matter. I just can't get excited like I can with the NFL. But I guess the one and done scenario does it for me as I'd watch a game 7 in the World Series. But I don't think a one and done game is fair unless it's a game 7. I don't make any sense. I'll stop typing now.

It makes sense for you because you're a Yankees fan. My baseball fandom is pretty Twins-centric (I've been paying like half as much attention this year as I normally do because of this) so I get where you're coming from.
But I'm talking about your average baseball fan without a rooting interest. I don't understand why they basically cheer for the same thing to happen that already happened the last 5 years before.

I hear ya. Twins vs. Astros or Phililes vs. Angels, I'm probably not watching either. The only sport I can watch any team in the playoffs is the NFL.

Is it weird that I hate the Reds but I love the Bengals?
Got AJ, Gresham and that defense on my fantasy team.

how great would it be if all 5 of these teams weren't in the playoffs
Dodgers, $193.8MM
Phillies, $133.1MM
Yankees, $119.1MM
Cardinals, $92.8MM
Angels, $92.3MM

I guess that is a tad bit weird but those are all pretty good picks. AJ goes without saying but I really think Gresh could put up some big numbers this year. The D should be pretty much what it's been the past few years but I am a bit worried about our secondary.

How do the Angels have only $92 MM this year with Weaver, Wilson, Haren, Wells, Hunter and Pujols all on the same team?
I'm not questioning your info, just think it's crazy.

Lol! I'm a couple innings behind on MLB.tv, but just saw Vernon Wells botch a catch in the 3rd.
He has no speed and no lift now.

Haren is not in yet. Besides, it is not a complete payroll.
Edit: Sorry... I thought of next year. my bad. Those forementioned players are hardly expensive.
