They really do.....I turned the gamecast off after the 1st inning when the Braves scored mainly to watch football. But then I did flip to see and were shocked to see us up 10-3. But unfortunately, the Reds don't have to play the Rockies more.

Reds aren't helping either, losing 5 in a row. If Cards could of just played .500 ball against the below average teams....Stros, Pirates, Nats and Brewers we'd be like a game out.

Diamondbacks about to hire Kevin Towers, Yankees assignment scout, as GM. Anyone know anything about him?

All I know about Towers is that he was the Padres' GM for quite some time and has a knack of finding good pitchers.

Because he has a chance to stick on 25 man all year. He was pitching impressively at AAA before TJ, and will only get better as he gets farther removed from it.

Chris Sale *************. Our rotation is going to be nasty next year with him entering the fold (assuming he has a productive offseason).

No way in hell he will make the rotation next year, and I doubt he'll ever start in the majors.

I agree, he's a reliever no more no less. Effective for an inning maybe too, but nothing about his stuff screams starter.

No one goes to the fantasy thread so here:
Who do I start? Standard H2H 5x5...
He is throwing
David Price (2 starts)
Bronson Arroyo (2 starts)
Jered Weaver
Ervin Santana
Jeff Niemann
Tommy Hunter
Francisco Cordero
David Aardsma
Question #1: Do I start three closers? If not, which 2 do I start????
Ryan Franklin: 3 vs CHC, 4 vs SD
Hisanori Takahashi: 4 vs PIT, 3 vs ATL
John Axford: 3 @ HOU, 3 @ SF
Juan Gutierrez: 4 @ CIN, 3 @ PIT
The thing about Axford is I don't know if they'll use Hoffman in a save situation to show that they weren't just using him in the 600 chase to sell tickets... Anyone? Plus my other three options all have 7 chances...
After the closers, I have 6 (or 5 if I start 3 closers) spots left. Lester (x2) and Lincecum get two of those spots. So there are now only 4 (or 3) spots left. Here are the options...
Max Scherzer @ CHW
Daniel Hudson @ CIN and @ PIT
Anibal Sanchez vs CHC
Travis Wood vs ARI and @ HOU
Joulys Chacin @ LAD
A.J. Burnett @ BAL
I feel that if I start Wood and Hudson (and neither get scratched from their second start), I'd pretty much lock up Ks. However, both could blow up at any point... Chacin was roughed up in LA his first game back on August 17th, but he's been lights out since. Some places say Anibal Sanchez is a must-start but he's also susceptible to getting rocked from time to time - at home against the Cubs doesn't seem likely but you never know...
HELP!

RA Dickey has been one of the best stories in baseball this year. I hope this is the new Dickey and we can expect more of the same next year as well.
