Jays being that "mystery" team would be pretty bonerific. With the trading of Marcum and the lack of Greinke...Jays need an ace.
Unfortunately its not gonna happen :(

How? Ajax is under club control for years and years. He's on a cheap contract. He's younger. He's the best defensive center fielder in baseball arguably. And the Tigers have a stable of young starting pitching. And we'd then have ZERO starting caliber outfielders on the roster.
Uhhh ...

Greinke is a "bonafide" ace who is only 27 years old. You don't just pass that up.

Most teams are passing it up. He hasn't been dealt yet, has he?
Tigers have bigger needs than another right-handed starter. I still want him, but not at the expense of creating a larger hole than we already have.

Thats because they are apparently asking for too much. But if in your opinion you wouldn't trade A-Jax for Greinke then that is just silly.

The best center fielder in baseball?
...no. He's good, but certainly not the best. You'd be insane not to include Jackson in a deal to get Greinke.

My guess would be he doesn't get dealt. Combining the two draft picks they would get for him with the one they'll get from Dylan Covey not signing and the two they'd have normally, it could give the Brewers five first round picks in the next two years. Not terrible and it just might be better than any offer they get otherwise. At this point, Fielder isn't going to resign with the Brewers and the other 29 teams in the majors know it.

Milwaukee. Hopefully there are a bunch of teams needed a bat at the deadline and we can unload him then.

O's would be interested if he was locked up long term, but you know Boras ain't letting that happen before he can test FA. I'm sure we'd be willing to give up a package to the likes of Tillman/Bell/Reimold/Hobgood etc which could probably get it done.

No. Why would a team give anything for right handed relief that isn't exceptional. We could wait uuntil July and give you absolutely nothing for mediocre role players, like we always do.

Xio said Jackson is the best defensive center fielder baseball. He's not as good as Franklin Gutierrez, but he is up there.
