Another link. Good job by the Phillies to get him. Just glad it wasn't the Yankees. Wonder how much money he got.

Holy schit.... what a pitching staff.
Cole Hamels is now their #4 starter.
Unfair.

Glad we can get past the idea that the Player's Union "makes" players take the biggest contract they get offered.
Phillies have to be the clear favorites now.

AP is reporting it to now.
Phillies pulled off the move of the century here. They got Cliff Lee for less than Weth and Crawford...

He must be 100% convinced he can win a championship there. Either that or the money isn't right. I wouldn't surprised if we heard about a couple option years or something.

This is more like Gary Payton and Karl Malone joining the Lakers.
Lebron got a max deal. Lee took much less money than he could've. $20M per year. What an awesome guy.

Rangers need to jump on the Greinke train. Garza too.

LeBron took less from Miami as well.
Payton and Malone were not very good at that point.
They essentially have four of the top 20-30 starters in the entire league.

Yup. That much revealed itself when he didn't sign with the Yankees right away. The longer it dragged out the less if favored them and it kind of became apparent towards the end that he wasn't going to New York. Supposedly his wife got treated poorly while there or something along the line too. Got to respect the hell out of him for going with his heart instead of the money.

No one is going to get any sleep tonight until the deal gets done!
Greinke to the Rangers should've been Plan A. 27 years old, great contract. Perfectly in line with the Rangers young team.

Raise your hand if you predicted Lee to the Yankees... The list must be LOOOOOOONG.

False. Cleveland did a S&T with Miami to give Lebron the most money he could get.

I think that's a real good fit for Greinke. Yankee hate aside, for a guy with social anxiety disorder New York and that type of media is not a good fit for him. The package would be structured around Holland and Perez right?

Wouldn't go that far. But this has been a hell of an off season. If we sign Russell Martin and then the Yankees don't get Grienke, it'll be perfect.
Oh, and apparently the Phillies are shopping Joe Blanton. Everyone who missed out on Lee, there's your consolation prize.
