well they won't want to give up anything for him and he's not doing very well this season anyhow. Too bad Manny screwed up and had to retire this year, he would've been a good deadline acquisition for the Tribe had he played, shades of bringing back Lofton in '07.

I'm also hoping Thome finds his way back to Philly.

Michael Martinez and Wilson Valdez just turned one of the quickest double plays I've seen in a while from the Phillies. With Rollins on the DL, I hope Valdez can at least play decent defense.

17 shutouts this year for Phillies pitching.
Cliff Lee is a 14 game winner.
Screw that Nationals series.

Do you guys think Verlander has a shot at AL MVP?
He has 6 more starts this year. He could win 23 or 24 games while leading the league in innings pitched, strikeouts and WHIP with an ERA around 2.30.
14 of his 19 wins have come following a Tigers loss. The ultimate streak-stopper.

Alright I know we are like 70 games out of first place and are not going anywhere near the playoffs. But games like this drive me bat **** crazy. LaRussa freeking pulled Carpenter 1 batter in the 9th inning of a shutout with 99 pitches. I understand if we have a good bullpen, but our bullpen is the worst in baseball's long ass history. Its terrible. Our closer has 10 decisions. We're on like our 4th closer and I think LaRussa is just done trying new dudes he'll just let this one suck. LaRussa needs to be done. The game has passed him by, we need a new manager. This isn't the 90s anymore. Consistency is good when u are good, but to consistently, well we always seem to finish above 500 and all but thats enough. He has 2 titles in like 60 years. And unless u manage the Cubs, I think any1 could do that. LaRussa GTFO. And yes, I realize we have no ******* chance, but ****!

An OPS of .858 is good.

Literally every team in the league would have to pass on him.

If Ben Revere had a throwing arm, he'd be the best defender in the game. The catch he made tonight was just spectacular, even though he got turned around a bit.

Bad things will happen tomorrow if I don't see Brandon Crawford and Brandon Belt starting.

The D'backs traded Kelly Johnson for Aaron Hill and John McDonald. Good move by the Jays as usual.

Well Hill is terrible. Johnson is a FA so the Jays are going to net probably a Type A for him. Even if he does accept arb then he's still an upgrade at 2B.

Left-hander Wandy Rodriguez was reportedly claimed off waivers Tuesday

Apparently by the Rockies

He'll be a Type B, but still worth it.

Thought he was close to an A right now but yes AA still killed the deal as usual.

Hill is also a type B, saves the Jays a bit of money and gives the D'Backs a little more depth in the middle infield

I was right. Johnson is the highest Type B right now and has a very good chance of becoming a Type A by the end of the year.

Bourjos is obviously phenomenal but I don't think Revere's sheer range can be matched. And that's not putting down Bourjos at all, I saw him rob Thome of a homer earlier this year, one of the best catches I've ever seen in person. I'd rather have Bourjos because of Revere's noodle arm and lack of discipline though
