By the way the best thing to come out of Moneyball so far is the Micheal Lewis/Keith law feud. Two people I respect very much going at each other. I'm hoping Lewis responds.

Article on ESPN right now talking about how the Dodgers and the Marlins are the two teams who need to spend big this off season. Even with the Dodgers in limbo this off season they should get the ok to go out and get some guys that they want. McCourt is going to have to let the team go eventually, and the dodgers will always be a team that people are going to want...someone who has a really big check book is going to walk away with that team with the ability to pay this team.
The dodgers need to go hard after Albert and Prince, they have played great baseball in the 2nd half and arent far away from being where they were 2 years ago. Kershaw and Billingsley are still very young and give them 2 studs to work around in the rotation, and if they can wrap up Kemp and Ethier they will be looking good that way.
Im excited for the off-season.

Guy on Fangraphs did a good job explaining everything. In the article there are links to all the relevant sites.

Basically Law killed the movie so Lewis responded killing Law. It's not as juicy as I made it out to be but it's still a random feud between 2 people I didn't expect it from.

I like to call that pulling a Sabean. Then again we can call most bad moves a GM makes that name.
Thoughts on the Law/Lewis thing?

The Rays have 2 more series against the Yanks and you have 2 more against Baltimore. You'll most likely be fine.

Yeah I really don't see a 2009 Tigers or 2007 Mets collapse coming.

I'm on Law's side basically, he didn't attack anyone like Lewis did.

:( The 2006 NLCS makes the '07 collapse so much worse.

Your franchise player is making $22 million for the next 7 years to barely function as a catcher, or to underperform at first or DH.

Probably, but I'm honestly not sure if it's worse to miss a playoff game or to have to start John Lackey in one.

The Yankees can't feel much better about whoever they're going to throw out there besides CC and Nova.

Nova as a #2 in the playoffs doesn't count either. It's CC and pray.

Ours is Verlander, Fister, and pray. And the Rangers have Wilson and pray.......honestly unless the Angels make it, it's going to get ugly.
