The Rays have punished NIP for using points instead of runs.

I'm not sure how much longer I can take of Raul Ibanez, honestly. He's costing us not only money but production in the middle of the lineup. Dominic Brown needs to be called up in June if this continues. Sometimes you need to bite the bullet.

A's have already used the DL eight times this year, Brett Anderson is the latest. Top candidates to take his spot in the rotation are probably Mazzaro and Cahill with Gaudin as a possibility as well. I'd probably prefer Vinny.

Jesus, Royals bullpen is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo poor. I could not stand watching this team consistently. It would honestly drive me insane.

It's a good thing that Ibanez is going to prevent the Phillies from re-signing the dude in your avatar.

I remember a couple years ago he had a start like this with us and that did not end well. He'll start being horrible again soon enough.

Not a fan of that, either.

Jamie Moyer is pitching ******* batting practice to the Giants. Another signing similar to Raul. We give him a hefty contract, he performs for a year of it and it prevents us from making more financial savvy moves in the future. I hope Polanco doesn't pull the same stunt.

Wow, Ryan Doumit actually did something right with a grand slam, Jeff Clement actually hit the ball today, and the Pirates could FINALLY win at Miller Park.

Ryan Doumit is blessed to be on my money league fantasy team. His grand slam rises my team's total to three. I am in last place so it's not very often I get to point out positives.

Can we please have a moment of silence for the passing of Trevor Hoffman? His right arms will be burned, and the ashes spread across Jeff Suppan's front lawn.

Talk about dead money...

I've taken an interest in Jason Bay recently mainly because he's on my fantasy team but also because he's on a rival team that paid him what seems to be more than market value. I was just looking at his at bats today since he had 8 in the doubleheader. Thought some others may be interested.

Game One:
Ball, Strike looking, Strike looking, Ball, Bay grounded out to third.
No runners on, no outs.
Count: 2-2

Ball, Bay homered to left center.
No runners on, no outs.
Count: 1-0

Pickoff attempt, Strike looking, Pickoff attempt, Bay grounded into double play third to second to first, Reyes out at second.
Reyes on first, no out.
Count: 0-1

Ball, Ball, Ball, Bay intentionally walked.
Men on 2nd and 3rd, no out, 1 run already scored in the inning.

Game Two:
Strike looking, Bay tripled to center, Reyes scored.
Reyes on first, One out.
Count: 0-1

Ball, Foul, Ball, Ball, Foul, Bay struck out swinging.
None on, 2 out.
Count: 3-2

Ball, Ball, Strike swinging, Bay lined out to third.
Bases loaded, One out.
Count: 2-1

Strike looking, Strike looking, Foul, Bay struck out swinging.
None on, two out.
Count: 0-2

Strike looking, Foul, Bay struck out swinging.
None on, two out.
Count: 0-2

Strikes Looking: 7
First Pitch Strike Looking: 3
Strikes swinging: 1
Foul: 4
Ball Taken: 8
Total Pitches Seen: 28
Pitches per AB: 3.5
Stat Line: 2-8, 3B, HR, 3K, IBB

I didn't include the intentional walk into the equation as far as balls taken and pitches seen because I don't know if they came out with the intention of walking him or pitched around him for 2 or 3 balls then went with the intentional.

Balls put in the air: 2
Balls put on the ground: 2

This probably means nothing to anyone else on here but I like to look at my players at bats. There are some things I miss because most times I don't have the time to watch the games and every at bat even with mlb.tv due to my personal life. I don't know why I found this interesting but I did so I thought I'd share. Does anyone know where I can find the league average for pitches per at bat?

Indeed it was. It will most certainly be on web gems.

Fun Fact: The start of Webgems can largely be credited to Scott Rolen. Back when Rolen was with the Phillies, he was one of the best defensive third basemen in the league. A high ranking personnel at ESPN happened to be a Phillies fan that became tired of all of the highlights being offensive and pitching, basically leaving the defensive aspect of baseball off the reels. Scott Rolen's defensive plays motivated this personnel at ESPN, whose name I cannot recall, to start a segment dedicated to the defensive highlights now known as Webgems.

This was the best I could find regarding league average pitches per plate appearance after a short search.

Just got back from the Mets double dip and I froze my ass off but it was a great baseball day. Wright is starting to come around again and he got his 1000th hit, Bay had his 1st Met homer, and my love affair for Ike Davis is beginning to grow larger.

MLB.com reports that Washington prospect Stephen Strasburg did not allow a hit in a masterful five-inning outing on Tuesday night in his fourth career start for Double-A Harrisburg. Strasburg struck out six and did not walk a batter. He was lifted after throwing 64 pitches after five innings.

I couldn't find any Davis shirts at the stadium today and I was about to leave when the lady brought out a whole new batch. I was happier than a pig in sh*t. We can share Davis and Mejia who's being wasted in the pen.
