Jim Leyland is electing to use Gerald Laird as the Tigers' designated hitter.
There's really no reason to be a fan of this team anymore, is there?

good news for detroit is that their division is weak
passing the chisox and indians won't be hard

Try having to deal with 19 straight years of losing and I'm still a fan. You're probably being sarcastic, but still bud.

One of my favorites was when Jim Thome hit a walk-off HR for the Twins against the Chisox and Hawk was just dead silent for like 3 minutes as Thome rounded the bases and celebrated with his team mates. Just complete dead air during that time

That's his thing. Did it for Peralta's homer that I was referencing too.

for who? It's not like they have much else for options, unless they're gonna call up Marte, who wouldn't get on base all that much either.

I'd rather play Gorkys or Josh Harrison at that spot. I'd at least know they were giving it full effort.

Yep. Have seen nothing out of him that says he should be up from Triple-A

Why Baker didn't pinch hit Votto for Cairo is mind blowing. Anyways, I'm happy the Pirates won!

Outside of that one horrible start by AJB, he's pitched so damn good for the Pirates.

Fish won 21 games this month, finished it with a sweep of the Nationals and are only a half game back of first now.
And Giancarlo is still a ******* man. 12 HRs in May.

Such a ******* stupid trade. The worst part is they made it sound like Melky was an old dude holding a young prospect back. NEWS FLASH: Melky is only 1.5 years older than Lorenzo Cain. Melky also experienced his breakout power year (the rest of his numbers were consistent with the rest of his career) at the age baseball players are supposed to if they're worth a crap.
Wait...actually the worst part is that they got Jonathan Sanchez when Lorenzo Cain could have netted much more value.
When the trade is talked about, it's always Frenchy v. Melky and never Melky v. Cain.

Hawk is a crazy piece of ****, and Sox fans love him and have the nerve to claim its better than Kasper and Brenly. Come on, Kasper has instituted Stat Sundays where they pick an advanced stat to teach the viewers. Plus he frequents Fangraphs.
