Chris Canty just signed.

edit: 3 years, 8 mil.

I like this move, should be an effective part of the rotation.

Finally some good news. Didn't have to break the bank and got a quality player. So we have McPhee, Jones, & Canty all battling for the job opposite Ngata? Only question to this move is we have quality players at the 5 tech already.

yeah, idk why we are talking to that bonehead Harrison before locking up Reed, although he'd be a great replacement to Kruger.

He'd be that situational pass rusher that Kruger was for us, but the only difference would be that he would actually be able to defend the run.

Not to mention, he'd bring it 110% every time we'd play Pittsburgh.

I do think Art Jones could play that NT spot in Pees scheme.

I'd want him just for his passion and anger. The D seemed soft last year for at least the beginning of the season. If we signed him I think he'd be more than just a situational guy. He's still a fairly complete player, albeit not great in coverage outside of the flats.

I still don't know who's going to play inside. I guess they'll bank on the draft or a cheap FA. And that's an interesting idea Dan. Maybe they'll get him some time there in TC to test the waters.

The last thing we need to do is let Ed Reed go only to sign James Harrison. I'd be furious.

Shocked Ellerbe left but no way we pay that much for him. Anyone want us to bring in DHB. He was kind of productive at Oakland he can be productive here. Has the play like a Raven attitude and will be great for flacco to go deep to. Smith DHB and Jones going deep is something crazy.

Yeah I'm surprised Ellerbe got almost as much as Kruger. Doesn't Miami play a 4-3 now too? Seems kind of odd. I think Ellerbe can do just fine as a MLB in that scheme as long as he isn't asked to drop back a whole lot but I thought a 3-4 team would pony up the most money for him.

Heyward-Bay would be an interesting addition but I think the Ravens need another big/possession target on the outside as opposed to another deep-threat. I'm not confident in an offense that has all deep-threat receivers even though they still have Pitta and Rice to work the short/intermediate areas of the field. It wouldn't be bad if he's brought in as the 4th receiver to replace a guy like Doss while still adding a bigger/more reliable possession-type on the outside though.

Mohamed Massaquoi and David Nelson are really the viable "bigger targets" the Ravens could go with but neither are attractive options. Best option might be drafting Keenan Allen or Justin Hunter. The Boldin exit has definitely left a void.

I don't understand cutting Bernard Pollard.

Young, cheap starter who played pretty well. Someone explain it to me?

Can't explain it, I'm afraid. Unless Ozzie is up to something like a trade or going to target Jake Long.

What the ****. Seriously ******* livid. In two years, this team will have completely redone its identity. And I don't like it at all.

And yes Ozzie has won two Super Bowls. I get that he knows what he's doing. But he's also fielded some **** teams before. It takes a team to win it all and we are gutting ours.

"Ray Lewis says he wants the NFL to go back to old school football." - Unfortunately this will never happen.

It would appear that the focus moving forward will be offense. We've invested big in Flacco, Rice and Yanda and I imagine Oher will be next.

Pollard is a replaceable part. If it lets us keep Reed, I'm all for it. That said, we've lost a ton of leadership over these past few days.

If saving money is the big goal here, how has Vonta Leach survived these cuts?

And agree with APS here, we've lost Ray, Ellerbe and now Pollard. I understand the desire to get younger and save money but we need SOME leadership (outside of Suggs, who's great) and I think retain Reed is key.

With all these cuts, we've gotta be damn near $15 million under the cap at this point. I'd love to see us retain Reed and maybe grab one or two role players before allocating the rest of the cap to rookies/RFA's.

No matter how much I respect Ozzie and the FO, I hate the release of Pollard with a passion. HORRIBLE!!

Baltimore Ravens website saying there is interest in Maualuga and Amendola. Also WR Austin to work out with Flacco.

If we cut Pollard/traded Boldin for Amendola I will lose it. If we pay Maualuga $1 to be on the team, I will also lose it. He is garbage.

We still have Ihedigbo!!!

Trust in Ozzie guys. Getting younger isn't a bad thing. We still have leaders on that defense. Guys like Suggs and Ngata will have to step up. Meanwhile we just put a bunch of money into Flacco and we may be making room to build around him since we clearly thought he was worth the investment.

Boldin's $6 million salary isn't off the books yet. He still has to pass a physical to complete the trade. I'm not sure where the Ravens stand with the salary cap at the moment though.

I don't quite understand the pollard cut. There has to be something going on behind the scenes with him. Opening up holes on the roster is a very Chief-like move.

Isn't Amendola going to command a similar salary to Boldin? I can't see us moving Q just to sign an injury prone slot receiver with the same cash. That doesn't seem very Ravens like.

I agree. Amendola doesn't interest me at all either.

Despite the reports of Ravens interest in WR Danny Amendola, I continue to hear that they aren't pursuing him and never have
It is LaCanfora so take it for what it's worth but I hope he's right.

This will be Pollards 4th team in 8 years. For all we know maybe he doesnt get along w/ coaches. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I agree w/ the poster above im shocked Leach survived all these cuts so far. We can save $3 million if we cut him.
