Jacobs has shared carries his entire career and only has 500 less rushing yards with the same average. I was being told that Ronnie is far and away a better back than Jacobs. Nothing I see shows me that.

You could replace 2007 with pretty much any year, unfortunately. Great player, can't be relied upon to stay healthy.

Without Ricky Williams there in 2006, Ronnie Brown had 1008 yards with 5 TDs. I am just arguing with my brother that the Giants got far better value in Jacobs than the Dolphins did with Brown.

And you'd be correct to this point.

Versatility makes Brown better for a lot of offenses.

The Giants also have the superior Offensive line, Quarterback, receiving core, and defense. Not to mention coaching staff. Ronnie has had very little to work with and when he does have help, he seems to get hurt.
The giants did get better value, as their starting back was a 4th round pick as opposed to 2nd overall. However, I would take Ronnie Brown over Brandon Jacobs 9 out of 10 times.

Ronnie's injury history is just unfortunate, it shouldn't even be a contest.

That is also another thing, the guy just cant stay healthy. He has never played a full season in his 5 year career.

I would take back number 1 because back number 2 seems very one dimensional. If #1 is Brown and #2 is Jacobs, I would still take Brown every day.

Or he could replace Brown with Jacobs, who misses time every year. I love BJ because when he's not trying to protect himself he can be an ogre, problem is that when he runs like a berserker he also gets injured a lot.

I think when healthy, Brown is a much better player, but he seems to get majorly injured more often...

Well, that's a dumb way to compare players.
It completely ignores what playbook their team uses, how good their line is, how good their FB is, how good their QB is, etc. Numbers mean jack when comparing two players on different teams.
