I would expect teams to zero in on the run and force Cassell to beat them.

It is funny to remember how big the expectations were for Larry Johnson after his great performance in the second half of 05. People were talking of potentially setting the single season rushing mark.

That makes no sense. Chris Johnson won it this year with less experience than Charles will have going into the 2010 season. They're the same kind of RB.

Good luck loading the box to try to stop him, too (teams did this at the end of 2009). The Chiefs brought back Chambers, who developed good chemistry with Cassel in a short amount of time, and the rest of the passing attack (and overall offense) is going to be improved by leaps and bounds.

The OP said OPoY, not MVP. Charles is a serious candidate - probably Top 5 - for OPoY going into the season.

Huh? Johnson had as many carries in his rookie year than Charles did in his first two combined.

To be fair Turner was still good this year he was just injured for like 6 games. I can pretty much guarantee he returns to 2008 form this season.

I agree with the point here, but still believe Michael Turner is a top 5 RB. I'd take him over Gore, Stew & DWill. Turner vs. Rice would be a tough call. He's a beast who was cut down by injury and a very difficult schedule.

Jamaal Charles might not be a top five RB yet but he is for sure a top ten RB that said this OPOTY stuff needs to stop.

Would you like to explain why it's a load of ****, or do you just expect to spout off with random comments and everyone to believe you just because you said so.

Everybody was all over JJ's and KJ's jock after the last 8 games to their rookie season also, it's easy to just dismiss it now looking at it in hindsight. Nobody said Charles can't win OPOY, but acting like he's some sort of proven commodity after a half of season is stupid.

We don't even know if he can handle a full season's load without getting hurt, and we need more then a half of a good season to declare a guy top 5 at his respective position. Calling him top 5 is about as ignorant as you can get, I'd let you get away with top 10 maybe because it's your own opinion, but get that top 5 **** outta here.

I bet you said Michael Clayton was a top 5 WR after his rookie season too, and was 10x better then Fitzgerald right?

A top 10 back nonetheless.
In my opinion, run-blocking is the most over played card in the book. The RB's talent and the caliber of the DEF trying to stop him both have more effect on how the RB performs than the OL's "run-blocking." Of course, there are "elite" guys, but very few guys suck.

Size has something to do with it, so the addition of 285 lbs. Casey Wiegmann and 290 lbs. Ryan Lilja, who was cut because the Colts want to get bigger on the OL, are going to dramatically increase the run-blocking? Maybe the pass-blocking. Adding Okung or Bulaga would definitely help, though, but even the addition of all 3 guys still don't make it impressive. Lilga and Wiegmann aren't even starters on OL's like the Jets and Titans.

They may not be upgrades to the Jets, Titans or New York Libery, but they are immediate upgrades to what the Chiefs had. Plus the transition to ZBS should suit 'smaller' OL. Just because a guy is big, Adam Terry, doesn't mean he is better than a Ryan Lilja.
