Utterfuckingdiculous.
Suspend 'em all, and kick Darren Myles Jr. off. Play Rod Wilks at SS and they'll be fine.

Do they put stupid in the water for the athletes at UT? I swear I can't even count how many have been in trouble with the law since I started school. Its unbelievable. Such wasted talent.

There's a reason why they call it the Fulmer Cup.

Unfortunately, but nowadays UT is par for the course as far as trouble makers go. We're probably up there at the top, but the schools that accuse UT players as being thugs aren't exactly saints themselves. The group that was involved in the fight were Fulmer, Kiffin, and Dooley recruits, so at least the Vols fans that still hold a spiteful grudge against Fulmer can't blame him.
But yeah, Myles had to go. This was his 2nd incident since the season ended, which is unfortunate cause had he kept his nose clean, he could've started at SS and had the talent to make a name for himself. It's uncertain who's gonna take over the SS spot now.
All the details of the fight haven't come out yet, but when they get done I expect more guys to be punished. Dooley sat down with every player who was there, and based on what they told him, he suspended DT Marlon Walls and LB Greg King - it's unknown what they did though. FS Janzen Jackson, who was involved in the BB gun robbery, was there, but he bolted as soon as the brawl broke out because he knew just being there would be bad for him despite him not fighting. DT Montori Hughes has hired a lawyer to represent him, and according to his lawyer, and guy bumped into him and the other guy initiated the fight. WR Da'Rick Rogers was also arrested for resisting arrest or refusal to cooperate (something along those lines), but no suspension for him as of yet. About half a dozen other players were taken in for questioning over it. No word yet on how the off duty cop got involved.
If Montori Hughes gets a suspension (or worse, as there are rumors he could be dismissed as well), the Vols DT rotation will be paper thin. JUCO DT John Brown isn't certain to make it in, and if he doesn't, then the Vols DT rotation will be DL Rae Sykes, DT Arthur Jeffery, DT Greg Clark, DT Steven Fowlkes, and then may have to move OT Victor Thomas to DT. A move to the 3-4 could be necessary.
So in other words...yup, we're boned!

No suspension as of yet for Da'Rick, but one definitely could be coming on the way. It depends on what they find out from the investigation. The "disorderly conduct" charge came from being a part of the fight, and the "resisting arrest" charge came from tensing up when they were putting him in cuffs.
So he's alright for now. Personally, I think everyone there needs to sit a game and do a **** ton of community service in the local area. I mean how stupid can you get?

Reports are coming out that it was Marlon Walls who was actually the cop puncher, that Montori Hughes could face a big indefinite suspension/dismissal because hiring himself a lawyer could be a sign of something bad, and that somehow Janzen Jackson was majorly involved in all this but somehow they're covering it up just like what was rumored to have happened in the BB gun robbery incident.
If anyone else is lost...well, you're not alone.
Either way, the Vols still don't lead in the Fulmer Cup standings!
Not sure if AD arrests count towards it or not. Eh UGA? *nudge*

Ok, just some more info on the Vols bar fight:
- It was rumored before, but now KPD has released a statement stating Vols senior DT Chase Nelson initiated the fight with another customer, 20-year-old Gary Russell. Other BAR patrons and Nelson's teammates joined in after the two broke out in a fist fight.
- The bouncers were able to move the fight outside. It's rumored that FS Janzen Jackson was actually picked up and body slammed by a bouncer in the process (If true, LOL!!!). It's also been said that Jackson took off as soon as the fight moved out into the street because he knew just being there could mean the end of the line for him at UT - genius of the night.
- Once the fight was pushed outside, an offduty police offer got into it trying to break it up. Witnesses say he recognized himself as an officer, but during all the noise and commotion, some didn't hear him and it's uncertain that the Vols/BAR patrons fighting heard it either (I think it can be assumed they didn't hear him). It's rumored that either DT Marlon Walls or DT Montori Hughes are the ones who knocked the officer down and kicked him, but right now all signs point to Walls.
- When uniformed police showed up, they broke the fight up. Freshman WR Da'Rick Rogers was actually in the middle of it trying to break things up, but when the cops started restraining everyone, Da'Rick was uncooperative. Since he wasn't fighting and was trying to break it up, he didn't think he should be getting in trouble so he tensed up. Stupid move, but that's how the Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest charge got slapped on him.
Darren Myles Jr., on the other hand, was in the middle of everything. Unlike Jackson, he continued to with the fight out into the street. The light didn't come on about how much trouble he'd be in for being there until the uniformed cops got there, so he took off running. The police ran him down, but Myles continued to struggle to get away and in the process (whether intentional or unintentional), he elbowed one of the cops in the face. That's how he got the Assault, Resisting Arrest, and Evading Arrest charges.
- Along with the stated players, senior WR Denarius Moore, JUCO transfer (and still not yet qualified) DT John Brown, and true freshman Matt Milton were all brought down town for questioning.
- We know why Myles was suspended and the rumors about why Walls is indefinitely suspended, but no word yet on why sophomore LB Greg King was suspended indefinitely.

From what little I gathered.... my predictions on the players involved punishments:
Darren Myles - Booted (obviously)
Da'Rick Rogers - maybe the first half of the UTM game at most
Denarius Moore - Same as Da'Rick
Chase Nelson - Maybe booted depending on whether or not he started the whole thing
Montori Hughes - anything from 1 game to completely booted depending on the still unknown circumstances
Marlon Walls - same as Montori
Janzen Jackson - Nada
Matt Milton - 1 to 2 games
John Brown - (If he qualifies) 1-2 games

Vandy HC Bobby Johnson abruptly retired. VU says they won't conduct a coaching search until after the season. Asst. HC Robbie Caldwell will take over as interim HC for next season.
Phillip Fulmer is rumored to be a top choice. I doubt that. South Carolina will need another burned out legend to take over after SOS retires soon, and Fulmer might as well wait for the better opportunity. :)
I'd rather him take over Vandy though. I'd root for them extra hard when they go up against non-UT SEC schools.

you have no idea, 29 wins equal 4th most in school history. I love Bobby Johnson, he will always be one of my favorite coaches. He brought us the first Bowl Win in 53 years, i think only CJ was old enough to see vandy play and win AND remember it. He brought us to competitiveness, as MOTH would know, beating scar twice, including at their places when they were top 10. We werent always the most talented, but damn, we were a great coached team. Most Vandy players ive heard from are at a loss of words, confused and hurt. Its a complete surprise, but they will play great this year and kick some ass.
