Clearly!
I really hope we can pick up another stud linebacker. I think we have 2/3 but having an elite cover Linebacker would be nice.

Looks like we are loosing Nicholas when FA picks up, and Peterson is just old. We have a serious hole at LB. Hopefully Lofton plays better this season than he did in 2010.
I don't think we need an aggressive big hitting LB, just a smart one who can play on 3rd downs, so teams like the Packers don't pick us apart with the short passing game.

With two early round picks at LB in recent years, I don't want to go that way early. I've always been of the mindset that linebackers can be found far and wide. While we have had a hole there, the difference between a mid-rounder/free-agent at the position and a first/second rounder will not bring much of a difference to the team as far as wins in losses in comparison to a DE/WR/etc..

Maybe they like what they see in the potential of Adkins for the U

This definitely makes houston their first pick. That way they have the flexibility to play him at either DE or LB.

Nothing is definite. But that is a likely pick for the Falcons, GA boy with pass rush skills, fits the bill. But I'd hate to draft a non starter with a 1st round pick.

The only reason we would draft Justin Houston would bet to use him to rush the QB from the DE spot. We can easily find a 4-3 LB in the later rounds if we need to fill a hole there.
AJC keeps reporting that it's definite falcons won't be trading the 27th pick, but I don't know how they can make that prediction without knowing how the draft will go along.

Maybe someone in the Falcon's front office told them, " we definitely won't be trading the #27 pick." But in all seriousness NOTHING is definite, it's all speculation at this point. Even carolina drafting Cam newton isn't a 100% certainty despite how many of us think they will.

If Houston is available since Tampa could take him. The bust factor for def ends is alot higher than other positions so maybe TD passes on who might be left and either trades down or goes def end in another round.

Tampa can't take Houston, Smith, Bowers, and Kerrigan. One is bound to fall to us.

There will be trades most likely. Every year teams move up to get their guy, I can see the same thing happening this year, and leaving us on the outside looking in on the DE class again.
To me that doesn't bother me in the slightest, if we can't get an elite DE, I don't want one. I don't want to take the 6th or 7th best DE when the 1st or 2nd best at other positions are available.

It turns out Houston tested positive for marijuana at the combine. I wonder what Atlanta will do now.

Oh man, that's a *****. It's not the first time for him either, but he played at UGA so what do you expect? Not surprised at all.

Boy that really narrows the pass rusher options quite a bit. It's a shame, because Houston is likely to succeed in the league, like most potheads.

Right now I'm feeling like Kyle Rudolph is the absolute best pick at 27. Tony G wasn't that good last season, and a year later you never know what you'll get from him. Rudolph played at ND and has the character we're looking for along with his elite size and great hands.
He is just the straight up safest pick. Every first round DE seems to have either character or injury problems and some have both. I know Rudolph has some health problems as well, but he's more likely to succeed at his position.

Hearing rumors that falcons look to trade up to top 10 for one of the WR.

Meh I don't see it. We'll have to spend so much to do that, and it'll be all draft picks, and this team has a ton of needs. On top of that, the contract you give a top 10 guy really make it even less likely they'll do it.
The TE position has been bugging me. Just a minute ago I thought we should take Rudolph with the first pick, now I think we should just give Palmer more reps instead of Gonzales and not draft one at all. I guess if we do select a TE, we'd cut Peelle and we'll have 2 guys under Gonzales, not bad.
What does everyone think off...
1. Kyle Rudolph
2. Brooks Reed
3. Torrey Smith

We have some needs no doubt about it, but you can't say we have a ton of needs. The core of our team is good enough to win the superbowl all that is left is to plug some holes on the supporting cast and back end starters.

I don't think we would trade into the top 10 from 27 for a WR. But we'll see how the draft goes and if Julio Jones falls out of the top 10, I believe only then we'll do it. But you never know. It wouldn't surprise me if we trade even in the top 10, and the only reason why it wouldn't is because Roddy White will turn 30 this year.

I'm with you if he falls a bit and is on the board like when the lions pick at 13 then you could trade up for him and not cost an arm in a leg. I'm not even saying they should its just something diffrent to look and think about other then the same ol 1st round talk.
