Default Westbrook to visit Redskins Wednesday

http://twitter.com/mortreport/status/13794945775

WOOT!!!!!! We obviously plan on a 4 RB set.

All seriousness, I do think Westy would be a bette 3rd RB option over Parker IF he is healthy. Portis is the only decent receiving RB out of the backfield and Westbrook would probably serve as the 3rd down RB/pass catching back. If it was only 2006 :)

I don’t know how I could take having McNabb AND Westbrook on the Redskins. Just a few years ago they were the cornerstones of our franchise, now that McNabb is on the Skins and possibly Westbrook as well could be heartbreaking.

Its reminding me of the Trotter, Armstead, LaVar experiment. I just hope there are different results.

I can understand it from the standpoint that we have one roster spot open before a cut has to be made to add someone. I dont see the harm but it also doesnt make sense. Unless this past weekend someone was not that impressive to Shanahan in the rookie mini-camp. Also he has said he grew up a Redskins fan and always wanted to play here and his brother is already here so I can see that angle as well.

Cool, now all the Redskins have to do is find a way to go back to 2005-2006 and they will win the SB.

Portis - 1500+ rushing yards
LJ - 1700+ rushing yards
Willie Parker - 1200+ rushing yards
Westbrook- 1200+ rushing yards

Is Shaun Alexander still looking for a job? I think he was a beast 5 years ago also.

And 3 of them are washed up garbage backs with no gas in the tank and 1 is a concussion waiting to happen and his ankles and knees are in terrible shape. Congrats, if only it were 2006. Redskins fans are delusional.

Are you saying that Portis, Johnson and Parker aren't washed up and that if you add Westbrook he wouldn't be an injury risk every snap?

Westbrook would be the best back on the Redskins and his tank is running low, I know because I watched every single one of his snaps this past season (when he was actually healthy enough to take them) and its clear he doesn't have the same explosiveness. Portis has been run into the ground, Johnson was run into the ground and Parker has lost most of his explosiveness and was replaced with Mendenhall.

No i'm commenting on your gross generalization. You said Redskins fans are delusional. For starters that's a huge blanket-classification.. all Redskins Fans as delusional. No redskins fans in this thread have said anything short of guarded optimism.

Then you say our runningbacks are washed up like it's some kind of insight.

It isn't 2006 wut?

Like a lot of fans i will express optimism when my team makes a move for player that doesn't cost alot and has had past success. At this point no one knows which of these guys is even going to be on the team when the season starts.

By the way. It's not as though veteran players who have been called washed haven't contributed to a team before.

Delusional......coming from the guy who likes to compare a full season of his teams stats to a portion of another teams. Stewart Bradley is the worst MLB in the NFL. He didn't have a single tackle last season. See I can do it too!

Back on topic, who cares how many backs we sign. Let the best ones make the team. It was going to be a long shot that all of the CP, LJ and WP combo would make the final 53. Now if he signs, throw BW in the mix. No guarantee he makes the team or even makes it past next mini camp.

Washed up? Nope. Seasoned? Sure. Parker is the big question mark. Portis will be Portis. LJ showed in Cincy he isn't washed up. He is more motivated then ever.

Okay well maybe I shouldn't have generalized, here I'll fix it...

The Redskins fans who think that Portis, Johnson, Paker and maybe Westbrook are still good are delusional and in no way shape or form are they 4 great running backs.

Guarded optimism?
Quote:

Yeah... about that.

And yes players have had success in the past when they switch teams but running backs rarely ever do, they have very short shelf lives and its better to draft your own instead of taking some other team's old leftovers.
