I was thinking that exact same thing earlier. If we take a guy not sure Dareus isn't the one you want, and he jumped off the screen the entire game today. He's gonna be a beast wheverever he goes, he certainly put his name into the hat with Prince for me as to who I'd want after PP.

Also if we lose, probably the only way I'd be sold on a trade down was a future 1st involved. I think the top 7 picks you can, and should come away with an all pro type of player at 1 position or another. I know we have been looking at positions of need also but for arguments sake say AJ Green was there then what?

I know that's one extreme example, but I want to keep our options open at that pick. I don't think I'd like trading back to 20 or so for a solid player, we sucked for a reason so I want an elite prospect in the top 10. Our 2nd is really a late 1st for a typical good season so with our 1st 2 picks were gonna need to come away with two future studs or this draft isn't gonna help us get out of the division basement.

Yeah if we're staying with 3-4 then it has to be Marcel Dareus. We most likely are not going to re-sign Spears and its not out of the question that Igor is cut with a new coach. Dareus is definitely a player that I want on my team. I love those Bama players. If we didnt have so many holes I'd trade up in the 2nd to move in the 1st to grab Ingram. That guy is a player and reminds me of Emmitt with his passion, running style, and competitiveness. He's going to be one of the 5 best players from this class.

AJ Green and Dez for the next decade? lol wow....

But you're right, if we secure that top 6 pick after tomorrow we will have our pick of some defensive studs. I know I've said on here I'm not a fan of taking 3-4 Ends in the top 10, but I think Dareus is going to be one of those rare 5-techs that would be worth it. Rich man's Cullen Jenkins.

Peterson, Dareus, or Quinn are my guys.

How about this thought.

Sign H. Ngata to play NT. Move Rat to DE. Resign Spears for a reasonable contract. You have just improved 2 positions there.

That would allow us to drop down and pick up some extra picks.

Also, if Ngata is too rich, A. Franklin from SF is a good NT.

Also, one FA name on the OL because I don't think we can fill all those holes in the draft.

D. Joseph from TB - Big strong good player. Not as expensive as Mankins or Nicks

I highly doubt the ravens let Ngata go.. but if that happened it would be amazing.

And we do need to nab atleast 1 o-lineman.

What do you want to do in the draft Macarthur?

Ravens might not have enough money to keep him, especially with how much money Haynesworth got in FA. It might come down to a bidding war.

There's no way they let Ngata go. The Ravens' are one of the best franchises in the league and Ngata plays an extremely important role in their defense.

Well if jerry has the balls, i'd be all for it. Our defensive front. Now, imagine:

ratliff-ngata-fairley as our down 3.

Overkill... but UNSTOPPABLE!!!!! hahaha.

Finisher, what do you think of letting go of roy, then getting a titus young or someone in the 3rd for the slot?

Roy just doesn't work as the 3rd WR. he is a waste.

Dez and Miles on the outside, then a speedy guy in the slot. We've never had that, and I think it could take our offense up a notch.

You'd have to think that the Ravens would move other players in order to keep Ngata.

I would be surprised if Balt lets Ngata walk, but he is going to want serious money. As I said, I think the kid from SF would be a good get too.

As for the draft, I posed that scenario that would allow us to drop down and pick up additional picks. I think our OL and DL need significant upgrades. I think we address each in FA and the draft. I think what our draft needs is quantity. Obviously, I would like to have a Fairley or Peterson, but we need multiple hits. I would love to have a mid 1st rounder to use on an OL. Have 2 2nds to use on S and OL/DL, 2 3rds for OL/DL CB or LB. I also think we need to look at a WR in the middle rounds. I'm not sure what the future holds for RW and Ogletree. Our depth behind Dez and Miles could be in question.

Certainly, the draft needs to be heavily weighted to OL and DL.

Since we assume Barber will be gone, a runner later in the draft would be a need.

Young is a very good deep threat. But we got that between Dez and Miles. We need a slot that can gain separation on short routes and take them to the house. Gimme Jernigan!!!

As much as Roy's juggling acts entertain us, he's done here. You're right he's definitely not worth the price or the headache. Sure, I'd be cool with us addressing a slot WR, but not earlier than the 4... maybe even the 5th. Those guys come cheap, we might be able to scoop one up via FA also.

D-Unit, isn't he a 2nd rounder? We can't take a WR that high.

We need that 5'9'' type guy who can run the crossing short stuff and piss off the defense. like wes welker.

We've never had that. We have the 2 studs on the outside, now it's for a welker type. it would help so much.

I'm sorry M.O.T.H. but it isn't hurd.

Not sure I'd waste a draft pick on a RB. I think we can get an undrafted free agent to fill the 3rd RB role. I think a slot guy would be terrific, but I am also concerned that Bennett hasn't really stepped up in any way. Do we look for a TE in free agency or the draft and cut our losses with Martellus? Given the way Gronkoski and Hernandez have energized the Pats offense this year, I just don't see Bennett, who seems to have more penalties against him then catches, developing.

If John Phillips is healthy, we're good to go. Phillips is the man.

I think he's in the same range as Titus Young.

That's interesting, D. I can't say that I watched much Hawaii this year, but I like that size.

Along that same line of thinking, I like the Helu kid from NU.
