Lack of depth is not an excuse for poor performance.
That's all fine & dandy in theory, but you can't expect to have someone else as good as Eli behind him, or Rodgers.
Brady, Manning, etc.
That's just impossible.
When Brady went down, or Peyton, Rodgers, it's screw city.
If Brees or Eli ever get hurt for the year early or mid-season, their seasons are over.
No matter who their coach is.
Bledsoe-Brady and Simms-Hostetler are serious exceptions and those were yesterday times in the NFL where the pass wasn't as important as these days.
