next couple of days of playing are gonna be hard work. gotta raise an Abra and get my Pokemon to like Lvl 20 so I don't get behind the times. I'm in Cerulean and will meet Bill and fight Misty after I do said training. But the end process - a Kadabra and a bitchin staff - is gonna make things sweet for later.

I forgot how much easier the second generation games are. Im 6 badges in after about 4 hours. Slowpoke is a tank with surf. Here is my team:

So I've been looking at some normal type pokemon...pretty solid. I always thought Normal was awful, but some of them are sick.
Miltank has become one of my new favorites. Urasing with his ability of Quick Feet/Guts is disgustingly awesome if you have him holding a toxic orb or flame orb. And I just found out about Bibarel...his ability, simple, doubles the stat changes he makes. So use curse or amnesia and his stats go way up. Siiick

The thing about Normal Pokemon is that there are some very solid ones, and then the rest of them are very very useless. There isnt really a happy medium of playable ones. Rattata usually outlives its usefulness by about the second gym, and Eevee's only purpose is to evolve. But guys like Tauros, Snorlax, Miltank, and even Ursaring to an extent are all very playable.

well, after I beat the E4 with pokemon yellow, I think I'm going to load up green again and try and beat the game entirely. I'm talking trying to get all 151, beat the E4 with everyone. it's gonna be damn near impossible, but I think I'm going to try it. to be a true pokemon masterrrr

does anyone know if you can trade between computers? like from my rom to another computer's rom? is this possible? if not i'm ******

I dont think so, you may have to use a code to make it so a certain pokemon is in the wild. Just turn the code on, encounter (insert pokemon you cant get due to trading/not in that color), catch, then turn off code. A little cheating? Yeah. Get things done? Yeah.

where can I find said codes to put them in? it's not that bad of cheating if they're just in the game, I still gotta find/catch them all. this could be epic and save me a **** load of time haha

as someone else stated, Chansey/Blissey are both very playable as walls. Porygon-Z as a glass cannon (particularly with the delicious Bolt-Beam combo) is also particularly deadly. Slaking with Giga Impact is also a heavy hitter as stated earlier in this thread. Kangaskhan, Lickilicky, Ambipom, Clefable and Wigglytuff all have their uses as well.

Naw, with the code you plug it in and that pokemon then is the only one you encounter until you turn the code off. So he could catch 3 evee's and evolve them and same with whatever other pokemon.

Slaking is my baby. I have a Slaking that I didn't EV train but has a double attack nature, and I give that ***** Giga Impact, and if you let him hit you, you are dead. He destroys. Also, Porygon-Z is a very very good normal type. He has the highest special attack in the game for non-legendaries.

ohh, I mis understood you before. I thought you meant like that pokemon would just be in the game. this way is sooo cheating haha.

Maybe I'll try and mix up my team. it's always so predictable.

You can get vba link and trade between games.

I know man, but if you group them its not as bad. Don't put water types together with the regular types and then you only have a few areas to look for them. That is the only thing that has helped it become not as ******.

Brought my DS to work...gonna have some fun with that once I get nice and ahead.

Just entered Victory Road before I left for work. One hit KOed all of Giovanni's pokemon, then obliterated my rival (named him ASSWAD.)

Current team (all level 43-45):

Arcanine
Jolteon
Blastoise
Fearow
Kadabra
Scyther

Side note: I was kind of worried that Scyther would start to look weak by this point, but he's remained very strong. Onix sort of had me scared of Pokemon that don't evolve....so weak. But Scyther after one Swords Dance absolutely destroys anything but Rock types with one Wing Attack.

Even then it sucks. Leaf Green update. About to roll into Lt. Surge's Gym, and I have a level 30 Charmeleon, a level 24 Mr. Mime, and a level 22 Butterfree. I am not using Butterfree much anymore, and Mime is just holding me over til I get a Poliwhirl to trade for Jynx. Before I go into the Rock Tunnel, I will add in a Voltorb to my party. Never actually raised one before, so I am gonna roll with him for the hell of it. I have a Magikarp in the Day Care right now that I will also grab before the Rock Tunnel. My team is gonna hopefully end up looking like this at the end: Charizard, Electrode, Jynx, Gyarados (or Seadra if I can find a Horsea), Snorlax, and 6th Pokemon TBD.

Slowpoke is such a beast. Gave him a Quick Claw, and he absolutely demolished so many people. Water/Psychic is such a sweet combination. I forgot just how awesome Slowpoke/Slowbro's stats are. They are all through the roof except, well...Speed.
