It's just...cartoony. It's no where near initially engrossing as D2 and the atmosphere seems very Nickelodeon.

I was underwhelmed watching my friends play. They seem to all think it is amazing but then the servers went down haha. Not gonna pick it up.

Same here. Im not even going to bother with D3. I was huge into D2, but D3 just hasnt looked to impressive to me. Maybe I'll check it out down the road sometime. But for now, I sit and wait for GW2. I also pre-ordered and am pretty stoked for it.

Did you get to play the one day stress test as well?
I played a Warrior, Guardian, and Ranger. I really liked Warrior and Guardian and Ranger was just ok for me. They were kind of boring. The dynamic quests and different choices were amazing though. I'm SUPER geeked for this.

I love D3. I'm not sure why so many people are upset by a hot bar. I'm not really sure I'd even call it a hot bar. You literally get 4 abilities on it and that's it. I like the rune system for the skill tree. It's basically the same thing as the skill tree. You have to decide what tree is going to suit you for the type of style you play but instead if you mess up or don't like it you can just swap abilities.
I'm almost done with Act IV and I love it. Act III and IV are amazing. The story is far more engaging and engrossing than the original ever was. I mean, this game is pretty much all about the loot system and they've done a great job with that.
I love it. My monk is a god damn baller too. I love punching people in the face and healing my party members too.
I'm not sure why people are complaining so much when they've barely played the game. I'm probably one of the bigger critics of Blizzard (especially when it comes to WoW) but I love the game. I don't understand why people get so upset by a few small changes. It's like people want them to make the exact same game as D2 but with better graphics. To me that's boring an not innovative at all.

They dumbed down the game and made the atmosphere much less dark and actually pretty cartoony. They give you the illusion of options with skills when leveling when before you chose your stats and had tough choices to make with your skill tree points.
In D3, you don't get to distribute stats, and the "skill tree" is an afterthought since you can pick whatever skills you want to carry at any given point in the game.
Is it still a solid game and pretty fun? Yes. But it's still a massive let-down and I refuse to associate it with either of the previous titles.

Fair enough. I kind of thought the stat attributes were pointless in D2. You basically just put a ton of points into your main attributes and the occasional point into vitality or something else (depending upon your class). Instead this just does it for you, which is fine with me. The skill changes are interesting. I always hated it because I was afraid I was going to screw up my tree or end up disliking the tree I was doing. Perhaps that's just me.
There's some strategy involved in using the current skill trees, especially once you get to nightmare mode. Knowing which skills to use and when to use them can make a big difference.
I mean, I feel like the game isn't that "cartoony" or less dark. It's still pretty damn dark, especially in Act III and IV. I mean, maybe that's just me, but I've enjoyed the improved storytelling in the game too.
I don't know. I just think everyone can't be satisfied. I don't know about you, but I'm glad they changed some things. I don't want to shell out 60 dollars for what is essentially D2 (even though I loved it) with better graphics.

Ouch. I got to level 40! Then I went back to school and just got too busy to play it consistently. Why have you stopped playing? Do you plan to return to it after they add more end-game stuff?

Would you say its worth the $60 Forenci? For someone who has put hundreds of hours in D2 is this game worth buying?

I would say so. I feel very few games are worth 60 dollars, but I haven't played a game non-stop like D3 in quite a long time (probably since we all played TOR together).

I'm probably not going back to TOR, no. Not unless something drastic changes. I'm waiting for Guild Wars 2 at this point. I got my hands on the game for the stress test on Monday and I was blown away with how polished it looked. They also changed a few things with combat and questing which aren't revolutionary by any stretch of the imagination but are SO FUN.
I'm super geeked over that.
Do you know anyone that wants to buy 3 50s, with 2 of them being raid geared? :D

Yeah, TOR is massive fail :(. I didn't even try it after the patch. I straight up just quit because I knew it was going ot be awful...the game was already boring and they kept making it so you had to do less and less to get neat things...which made them not neat anymore.
People are out killing the world boss? Oh **** that, lets just make a vendor that sells the drops you might get from it.

D3 is great and the customization is made to be used in end game. They didn't dumb it down at all. There is now different builds for every class. I like D3 just been having FPS issues and I really don't like the classes other than monk.

Eh... I think that if they've made it so you can reset the skill trees on Diablo 3 I might give it a miss, if they've changed it from a game that took planning and forethought to a game that lets you fix up when you do something stupid or don't plan then I've lost a lot of interest.
Does it have hardcore mode still?

If that's for a gaming rig you should spend some more on that video card.
