Its the worst feeling I've ever had looking at an injury happen (physically and emotionally), even worse than Theisman's leg breaking, but its probably because I am closer as a fan to Weaver than Theisman, and I watched it as it happened, and that's not to take away from the gruesomeness of Weaver's injury either.

I was worried about the same thing, if he would've taken another big hit to his head, their could have been all types of different brain damage. The sad thing is, he played better after being concussed than Gaither did the rest of the game.
Yeah, but it's not his call to get back in the game. That medical and/or coaching staff just took a gamble with his life to try and win a football game. This wasn't someone who might worsen a fracture or sprained ankle, this was someone that with the information they had could have suffered permanent brain damage with another hit. Considering how hard the NFL has been coming down on concussions I can't believe the Eagles got away with that.

Someone needs to lose their job for that call, imo.

I completely agree, and for the reasons you and GE77 pointed out. The last thing I want to see is someone have their life changed or ended playing football.

Anybody remember Napoleon McCallum's injury? That was was by far, the nastiest leg injury I have ever seen

Weaver's was similar in how his leg was planted, then completely bent inwards. Just brutal

These leg injuries, knees, are **** brutal. Every year that goes by, I swear my weak stomach can take less and less. This is by far the worst thing about the NFL for me.

That's why in training camp, I titled the injury thread the Torn ACL thread at first.

We lost Justin Harrell to a torn ACL yesterday, and I still don't think Ryan Grant just sprained his ankle on that wicked roll-up tackle. I bet he's out for a month or more.....

The Packers-Eagles game was vicious.

McCallum's was slightly worse than Joe Theismann's.
Both were horrific as hell though. And both were on Monday Night Football coincidentally.

I didn't see McCallum so Theismann's is by far the worst I have ever seen.

I watched Weaver video, then Willis McGahee 2x, and then back to Weaver. I don't know how you guys can't stomach it. McGahee knee hit was much, much worse.

Couldn't agree with you more. That was an embarrassment on the Eagles organization right there and I think someone, the NFLPA, will look into it deeper.

And of course Bradley wanted to stay in. All players would.
Well maybe not Albert Haynesworth.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5568272

Apparently none of the medical staff, none of the coaching staff, none of the booth staff, not even the Philly waterboy saw Bradley wobbling/falling around like he just got KO'd despite it being on the live television broadcast and approximately 20 yards from them. And then he just inserted himself back into the game, because players choose who goes in and out of games.

And Kolb supposedly passed their first test but then for kicks they decided to test him again at half, even though they believed he was completely fine, and he failed.

It's obvious bull and it appears they got away with it.

Do they even have neurologist on the sideline? They can't really tell its a concussion without scanning his head or a specialist there. They took him out and waited on him on the field, for all we know all the test they ran on him he passed at the time. So they probably just assumed he got his bell rung. He then probably came back and said something is not right here, and then got the other test done.

Same with Kolb, first he said it was just his saw and then he came back out.

Its up to the NFL and NFLPA to change the procedure on who should do the checking for a concussion and what test to run and how long to keep them out, or knowing the difference if they just got hit really hard. Which is easier said then done.

I remember watching McGahee's national title knee injury live...that image will forever be burned into my brain.

Freak injuries like this suck. Can happen to anyone at any time....I feel for Weaver and hope he makes a full recovery.

Bradley was woozy and wobbly, and fell to the ground for God's sake!
He looked like he took a straight right from 1985 Mike Tyson right to the chin.

And Andy Reid threw him back out there!

Ligaments, nerves, arteries torn apart.

Tyrone Prothro's injury was pretty nasty also, It looked like his ankle was hanging by a thread of skin.

sigh..... He had great potential...
