LSU and Auburn could easily be 3 loss teams right now.

I'm still curious to know what the rule is on the holder's knee being down when he pitched it over his head... it seems like the play should have been blown dead right there.

Both Florida and Bama lose on the same day?
If the Vols didn't blow ass, this would've been the perfect weekend! :D

I believe there is a special rule for that situation. It might be that on a kicking formation the holder is allowed to have his knee down, otherwise every kick would be blown dead when the holder gets the ball.

It's one of those things where they, luckily, just use flat-out common sense (what? I know!).

But if they don't kick the ball, is he still considered a holder or does he need to keep his knee up in order to do anything else with it?

Howell just saved a touchdown with that hit. If he was a step behind Johnson was gone.

Put some more zip on that pass, Barkley.
Whatever, I forgive you, you're clutch. :)

Barkley, contrary to the perception out of HS, actually looks pretty decent on the move.

No idea. I just remember it being discussed over the years and I believe it's an exception to the rule.

Not the best source, but probably correct. It is allowed as long as the team is appearing to kick a FG, and can do anything they want once snapped.

Greg McElroy: probably not the best person to interview on how to deal with a loss.

It's not over, but a win looks bleak.
