Based on like the three Cowboys games I've seen Jones is probably one of the beter (top 10ish) blocking backs in the league. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

The Cowboys can borrow Drew Stanton if they want.

Jones is a good player, but he is certainly not a 3-down type back. He's a weapon. He's a guy you can line up in the backfield or out wide. But he's not a traditional RB.
He's not a guy you give the rock to 25+ times a game. He's a guy you line up all over the field and get him in open space.

No, there is not.

This is true. But the whole reason he is on the team is because Jerry Jones is GM. He is on the team because he went to Arkansas and Jones couldn't work a deal to trade up for McFadden.

He really hasn't had a chance to prove himself as the feature back though and that's where Rashard has the advantage. I think it's time to realize that Barber isn't what he used to be and give Jones a shot. I have my doubts about whether or not he's a feature back in this league, but you'll never know unless you give him a chance.

I am happy Hakeem Nicks is turning into a great WR. I remember watching his bowl game where he had 3 tds and thinking damn this guy is good. I wanted the Raiders to draft him

He was selected to be a speed compliment...but that doesnt mean you pidgeon hole him into that role, years later. He's got a great body to carry the load. The Titans were ready to take him, if we didnt. And things could have played out much like the CJ situation for him there. Maybe not 2000 yards. lol. But he'd more than likely be starting and playing damn well. There's no denying his talent.
But honestly, i dont think you realize how bad our run blocking really is. There are no holes. It doesnt matter how fast you are, when you're being hit as soon as you get the hand off. Even on his longest run today, he had to avoid a tackle in the backfield, to even get any space. What you're seeing today, is what we see every week. There are not many holes to run through. It's frustrating. Our three RBs, who were constantly praised a year ago, didnt just get bad over night.

It was a good pick during that draft, he was the best running back prospect for them as far as I'm concerned. Mendenhall wouldn't have been a good fit with Barber and at the time was in no way a substantial upgrade even if he played at the level hes playing now right away. They got rid of Julia Jones that year and they loved the RBC approach.

Say what you want about Brandon Jacobs, when he gets a head of steam he's a freakin freight train.
But yeah that was terrible tackling.

That's not true at all. Garrett actually wanted him more than Jones did. And Felix had many 1st round grades, the Titans were reportedly taking him, if we didnt.
