Orakpo actually reminds me more of a young Merriman...in the good way, exactly because of that power-pass rush which reminds me so much of Merriman back in the day...Rak's smoother in coverage than Merriman, but as pass rushers I think there's quite a bit of similarity.

Merriman was actually better than Ware when he was roiding....


But yeah, if we're talking just this year, yeah I can see how you can make an argument for Osi and Orakpo.

At this point I think Orakpo is a lot closer to Ware in terms of pass rush skill than people realize, but as a linebacker Ware is lightyears ahead of Orakpo.

Well if Merriman did keep up the way he was playing his first 3 years I think he was right up there with Ware, but injuries and the Roids stuff ruined his career.

I always liked the fact that Ware became such a complete player when Merriman was never much use if he wasn't attacking some poor Quarterback's virgin asshole. Ware became a stud against the run and a really asset in coverage really quickly which really impressed me and convinced me that Ware would last better and prove to have a much longer peak.

In terms of comparison Orakpo reminds most of Terrell Suggs except doesn't suffer from the constant motor issues Suggs does and Orakpo is probably more explosive.

Suggs runs a 5.5 40 at this point in his career.

Lamarr Woodley is actually a good Orakpo comparison now that I think of it.
